St. Thomas is a D-I member of the Summit League.

I think the issue is likely to be moot, anyways.

Michigan Tech took the D II Alt belt last night. If they leave Alaska with it, we may see a unification by the end of the calendar year.

My obsession with the D-II belt consolidation continues. Luckily, both versions now reside in the CCHA with Minnesota State and Michigan Tech. If both hang on to it, they play at the end of November. We could actually see it disappear even sooner. Michigan Tech plays Bemidji this weekend. Minnesota State faces St. Cloud. And the following weekend? A two game Bemidji/St. Cloud set.

The "worst case" if you are a fan of the Alt. Belt disappearing? Minnesota State loses the belt to St. Cloud. Michigan Tech retains the Alt. Belt against Bemidji. St. Cloud retains against Bemidji and doesn't have the opportunity to lose it again until playing Duluth in January.

Unless BSU wins next Friday in a shootout, which I suspect won't be held because it is an interconference game, the D-II play-up belts will be unified. A new SO belt could start on Saturday. This alternate belt has existed since 11/19/16.
