Ralph,

If I was interested in doing the research for a GLIAC Belt: FSU, LSSU, MTU & NMU, what kind of research would that entail in order for you to activate it? Would it simply be finding all the past match-ups of those four teams? The NMU Year-by-Year Results is very easy to access. The others I will have to find out about. Please let me know what I would have to do, and perhaps I will make the effort. Thanks, Mark

You would have to find the game-by-game results for each school (you could do it without one of course) and then decide when to start which could be either the first time any two teams met or when the GLIAC was founded. Then you would just track it. There would probably be some Alternate Belts when a team not having the Belt one a game in a shootout. Remember that the Belt doesn't transfer in a multiple game playoff matchup until the end of a series. (This won't matter much unless there were two-game total-goal series.)

You're not missing a thing. I was either looking at the wrong month on a calendar when I said that or ..... some other scenario I'd rather not explore that would have me mess up that bad. Carry on....

You know if you go back a few years, you would have to include Mercyhurst and Wayne State in that mix as well. Not that they would have meet often on the ice at all, but they would have been GLIAC teams.

With UML going D-I in all sports, that means that the Playup Belt and the D-II Playup Belt are added to the WCHA Belt (and the CCHA Belt if we keep it), as Belts which could be in the hands of no-longer-eligible schools at the end of the season. It is, however, much more likely that the WCHA Belt will have this fate, than one of the Playup Belts.
