According to the WCHA schedule posted today, under the threat of having the Michigan Belt revoked for not defending its title, WMU has condescended to play FSU next season.

I might as well post this so others can find tell me where there are errors. It is based up on the schedule thread. PC's first defense of the HEA Belt may be a week earlier since their schedule is empty then and they have many unknown HEA games.

Just out of curiousity: Do exhibitions count? Ivy league schools commonly schedule "scrimmages" against each other. They don't count towards the Ivy's 29, but they do count against the NCAA's 34.

I'm certainly in agreement with exhibitions against internationals or the USA U-18 team not counting, but obviously my concern is with those that are eligible for the belt as it is.

Is there such a game this year that affects any of the Belts first game?
We did give BC an Alternate Belt when they defeated Harvard in an exhibition game in 1922.

The only information I have about a scrimmage is Princeton v Brown, but that doesn't mean Harvard wouldn't do a similar scrimmage.

As for current Ivy League scrimmages, I don't think they should count as they are clearly identified as scrimmages by the participating schools.

As I recall that game was played late in the season and wasn't offically approved of by the schools. However, some years later both schools recognized the game.

Thanks, Sean. That makes sense. The early thread where the history of The Belt was developed disappeared in the Great USCHO Thread Purge. I am pretty sure that you were the one who supplied the history of that game at the time. The game was played on 3/2/1922 which must have been very late then.

I think you may be confusing UMass Lowell with Merrimack. UML is in the process of reclassifying as DI (they are currently in year three of the process).
