I feel like we should have a d2 northeast-10 conference play up belt!

AIC, Bentley, UMass-Lowell, and Merrimack are all at D1 level. AIC plays Bentley this weekend with Bentley playing UML later this year. If St A jumps up to AHA, that's 5 ne10 teams

If we have enough Northeast-10 teams playing D-I hockey, we could very well have a Northeast-10 belt. Unfortunately, we don't.

Ya know, I don't think I've ever told you that I appreciate you keeping track of this, but I certainly do. It adds to the whole college hockey mystique. So, I say now, thanks for your time and effort on this! :)

An Idea! Can we perhaps create the Colorado Belt? We have 3 D1 teams here that play every year and maybe it's time to track that. Let me know what you think and I could take point on it. Do I have to go to Kohl's and buy a belt? lol.

My personal opinion is that three teams isn't enough to make it worth tracking, although I don't know what the minimum should be. There are four in Connecticut (I think), and we haven't bothered either.

BTW, I add that when The Belt was oriignally started there was talk of creating an actual belt and passing it around between USCHO posters at games, but nothing was ever done.

Clearly it is 6, since there are 6 schools in B1G and 6 in NCHC :p

Is it possible to list the schools eligible for the D-II and D-III play up belts? I am not too familiar with who is playing up.

D-III: CC, RPI, Union, Clarkson, SLU, RIT.
D-II: Alaska Anchorage, MTU, UMD, BSU, MSU-M, SCSU, NMU, LSSU, Alaska, FSU, UAH, UML, Merrimack, AIC, Bentley, Mercyhurt, Sacred Heart.

Someone will correct me if I missed someone or added someone that I shouldn't have. There were others that were once eligible.

Actually the NCHC will have eight schools. The debatable point there is whether it should be followed already since it does not exist yet.

We did follow the CHA belt when the CHA had fewer than 6 schools.

That has crossed my mind and makes a lot of sense to me. If others, especially fans of NCHC schools, have an opinion on this, please post it. I don't think that the same thing should be done with the B1G Belt because it is a league that actually exists.

Has there been any word yet about whether any leagues will have shootouts next season?

Lowell isn't D-III for their sports, they're D-II. Therefore, they're eligible for the D-II Playup and Playup Belts (along with HEA, New England, and Mass), but not the D-III Playup.
