The Battle for the Imaginary Cup - NMU vs. Michigan Tech, 12/18/09 and 1/12/10

Re: The Battle for the Imaginary Cup - NMU vs. Michigan Tech, 12/18/09 and 1/12/10

In other news, Foxton's "Fire Russell" sign made its appearance, only to be confiscated early in the second, apparently on Walt's orders.

As I said in Houghton when Foxton asked us for advice on drinks, "Man up!" :D

And make another sign.

The sign was "too offensive" in the words of the staffer who came to take it away (I heard it was on Walt's request). Interestingly enough, the Sausage Fest license plate wasnt too offensive. :D

I just have to say working a 12 hour shift after a win is much easier than after a loss. THANKS TECH!!!:D

Several years ago I brought a sign that said "Oystrick has Herpes" the BEC staff didn't care, I had it all game and they never said anything about it. The next night I had it at JMSIA and it was confiscated before warmups because it was inappropriate. :p

Meh, considering how many times I am actually in the building with Russell, it's not really worth making another one. Although I could print out a bunch of normal paper sized versions and hand them out to sections. :D

Meh, despite the fact that the team managed to blow another lead, I can't help but feeling that I kinda had fun...I'd much rather win a solid 5-3 than a barely even 2-1 though, but apparently none of the wee teenagers in the Marquette Wendys realize that the series is tied and that tNMU is not that good :p Hopefully they wise up when they decide they want a real education

That's awesome that he brought that.

Personally, I wasn't a fan of it. However, at least Foxton manned up and was open about it, instead of hiding behind a internet pseudonym.

The difference is, Foxton did it in jest. I'm pretty sure JSR is dead serious.

Sounds like BUNGER! will play. Royer and VanWagner also practiced yesterday, but are still day-to-day.
Bunger had a couple of awesome shifts, one of which lead directly to Tech's goal (hard forecheck to get the puck and then a good screen on Stewart). If the whole team could play with that kind of intensity, they'd win a lot more games.

Don't be disappointed you didn't see the game. That was an ugly win. I can't be too mad, it was a rivalry win at home, but I can't be too proud because that was an ugly win. Almost as ugly as the hat FM was wearing.
That game was probably worse than the Friday Minnesota-Tech game, and that was one of the saddest excuses for a hockey game that I've ever seen. :o And FM's hat was terrible.

I take it that wasn't bwk that you talked to last night? :( :p

I'm still not sure. And, again, I'd hate to think that the person in question was him, 'cause I know this guy from working at Lakeview and he seems like a nice enough guy... :(

I just thought I'd add it was good to see Billy Smith back on the ice. The Cats need his energy the rest of the season.

Nice surprise to see him back a few weeks earlier than expected.

I really want to get Gordic back. I think he's got a ton of potential but he's going under the table for his shoulder during break, so we'll have to wait until next season. Can he get a medical red shirt or did he probably play too many (8)?

Last I heard, Russell was attempting to get a redshirt for him, so it should still be possible
