The Amazing Race: Season 15

The new Season Premiere begins Sept 27, with a 2 hour episode. I'm certainly looking forward to the new season, although I really hope this year's always included mental illness team isn't as talkative about making it a major playing point as season 14 (One team member this season has Asperger's Syndrome). Don't get me wrong, it is truly inspiring to see these teams compete, and do well, however the whole Luke thing got old. Quick.

Thoughts? Expectations? Reading down the wikipedia article, it sounds like they'll be visiting a couple neat places, but I won't mention anything here for the spoiler issue. You want it, go get it:)

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Thank you for starting this thread. I watch very little tv (and never watch CBS) so I never know when the new season starts.

I love Amazing Race. Interesting about the Asperger's Syndrome competitor. I've actually done some research on that because I have a theory that one of the people I work with has it. Having done the research helps me tolerate him a bit more (though he can still be frustrating to work with). I hope they don't play it up as much as Luke did.

I'll have to go look at the team bio's. Any hot guys? I'm assuming there is a hot chick team, will they stay around long enough for the boys to drool over? Any midgets that we can laugh at when they fall?

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Asperger's covers a lot of ground -- anybody who deals with an engineer has made allowances for the behavior at some level. ;)

(Yeah, I know, I'm highly skewed INTJ and one to talk.)

I don't watch much TV either, just searched for season 15 and found out =]

There is a team of female pro poker players for sure, can't remember any others.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Bring it on.. best show on TV. Last season was kind of lackluster..

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Most of the reality shows are garbage, but this one really is worth watching. I love that it's on Sundays as well. After watching football all weekend, there is nothing better than kicking back and watching people do things and go places that most can only dream of.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

What I love about it is that every step of the way I am mentally inserting myself into the situation. In the heat of the moment would I say "Gracias" to an Indian cab driver like someone inevitably does each season? I like to think I wouldn't...

Anyway, Wikipedia says that this season finds them in northern Europe - Sweden and Estonia. Having watched several seasons now, it seems like there are a few "regular" stops - like Thailand and Beijing. I would like to see the show really start to take some chances and send them to Senegal, or Bolivia, or East Timor, or somewhere really off the beaten track. There have been a few truly unique stops - off the top of my head, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Tunisia, Perth and Oman come to mind, but I'd like to see more of them.

I really do think Amazing Race is the best show on TV, now that Scrubs is gone and the Simpsons has jumped the shark.

A few years ago our school made a stop on our training ship in Estonia, and it was everybody's favorite port, by far. I'm fairly certain they went to Tallinn, as well. I wouldn't mind seeing some more South America stops: Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, etc. It usually seems to be Europe and Asia, atleast from what I can remember.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Interesting with an early elimination. i was glad that the two teams I initially dislike "Hood Yoga" and the Street Lawyer were the last two left.

I was going to say the exact same thing. Also an interesting bluff being played by the poker players saying they work with the homeless in an attempt to gain allies.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Anddddd, oops.

They should have known it would eventually have come out, they should have used something more plausible, we work in the gaming industry. I like the first challenge it was certainly original but I hate the randomness of it, granted it was a non elimination leg but if it was to get eliminated just because you were the last to get the Wasabi bomb would have sucked.

The non-elimination wasn't too surprising, given they hit somebody at the start. Pretty good first episode, and this one is pretty entertaining so far as well.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

Good second episode, you know that duck challenge was tailor made for the farm boy. Wondering if the poker players having rolling luggage rather than backpacks will hurt them, certainly seemed to slow them down. Hopefully they will be eliminated soon. Not liking street lawyer and poker players but haven't picked a favorite yet.

I wanted to be able to get behind the local team.......the lawyer and his girlfriend or wife, I forget. Not liking them. Poker players did themselves no favor by lying. My early favorite is the team of best friends....the two guys from LA, one with Aspberger's (sp?)

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

I liked the challenges so far this week. Really hoping the Lawyers are eliminated this week they have been doing really poorly.

Re: The Amazing Race: Season 15

The older team definitely picked the harder detour, they seemed well behind after picking the spotting challenge over moving the animals. I'm liking the team with the two friends Zev & justin, father & Son and the Globetrotters. Don't like the lawyers, poker players and the brothers.

The older couple wasted too much time trying to figure out the scramble themselves. When they finally asked a local it was solved quickly. She was extremely annoying so I'm glad they're gone.

I really like Zev/Justin and Meghan/Cheyne. Also like Globetrotters and Gary/Matt (father-son).

I can't believe the speed bump last week for the poker players. Why even bother with something that easy. I was hoping for them to go.
