The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

Exhibit A of why I hate BU.

1. You are giving us an assignment because we actually have some creativity and the thought to not chant the same tired chants over and over again, game after game.

2. You're complaining about our lack of tact when one of your chants is "***** 'em up, ***** 'em up BC sucks" Really???? At least when we are vulgar we do it in a very subtle way.

3. Sit down, shut up, enjoy 4:30.

n00b. congrats on beating harvard!

My memory is a bit hazy, but I'm pretty sure I remember BU struggling with Harvard at home.

For a short time, but not really, closest they got was 2-1 and the final was 5-2. Adam Kraus got in at the end of the game to get some PT.

Well said.

Lots of questions about the 4:30 game. How many fanboys will show up? Does this game get an exemption from the required facepaint, sequinny hats, and BU jerseys?

It's going to be a ghost town at 4:30.

Over/under 1 full section.

List of exemptions:
Facepaint: No
Sequin Hats: Yes
Jerseys: Never! Bonus points if they say BC sucks on the back.

Long time coming huh?

Hey - question about the rules of the Beanpot. If, at the end of regulation in the consolation game, Harvard and whoever they're playing against that year are tied, would they play unlimited OT? 5 minutes and call it a tie? 5 minutes and a shootout? It looks like the most recent time the consy went to OT was 1987, and I can't seem to find historical box scores that might shed any light on this.

I'm finding that the 87 game between bc and harvard was played under controversy because media members were told that there would be no OT and the game would end in a tie as to not delay the start of the late game. And all I can find is that the GWG was scored with 1 second left in sudden death OT.

NCAA tourney rules. 20 minute OT

I don't think it was a real assignment, if it was there would have been a date and time along with a requirement of what color crayon you should use.

Child molestation if funny? Sick *******

Get over yourself. As serious a problem as it is, people have been making fun of it for years. How many comedians have made priest jokes and thousands have laughed at it? People make jokes out of serious things because being serious about something all the time is just a bad way to be. If you want to go into outrage mode, go ahead, but people laughing at jokes about it does not mean they condone it or think it's not serious.

Not that I really care if people make fun of it or not but... Do you have any examples of comedians that have made jokes about children getting molested by priests and getting a ton of laughs? Just curious. Maybe there is something on youtube? I haven't seen a routine on stage that made a joke of something like this and my gut feeling is that people probably wouldn't think it's funny.

I would question someone's sense of humor if they think something like that is funny but I/m not really surprised someone might be thinking of this stuff and laughing while putting on white and red facepaint and clicking reload every 30 seconds on "Shatty's" twitter page. Know what I'm saying?

That's fine, it shows how low class BUers are. I'm pretty sure if anyone made a Travis Roy joke you wouldn't see it the same way...
