Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Good comeback to salvage a tie in a game they probably should have lost. That's a good sign for any team. Looks like these guys might actually be developing into a really strong team. Good job, Corkie. :D

Chris Osgood is 37? Jesus Christ, where does the time go? :(

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

He opened the door for Leidermark and it looks like Klas made the most of it.

From what I've seen of Leidermark this season, I've been pretty impressd. He's a solid two-way player, seems to have a lot of smarts for the game, always seems to be in the right place positionally. Now that he's finding the net a bit, and dishing out the assists is a bonus.

He's gonna be a good, steady player for Maine, maybe not a top two line guy, but a solid contributer.

Ok, I agreethat hokydad is a troll, but he adds to the conversation
he knows some stuff that alot of us do not

and he says stuff that alot of us know, but are afraid to say
I wish he would right out and tell us why his decommitted from Maine... And that the decision was his and not his son's

other trolls simply call names and make hillbilly comments (or they did before they grew up) and they never understood the game... Hokydad, while he us another knowitall, actually knows some stuff

it is so nice when people are more interested in discussing and sharing and do not hold back for fear of offending the thinnest skinned among us.

The thinner skinned are going to be offended no matter what, and they are only looking to be offended anyway... Makes em feel superior... But they don't add anything

hockdad adds... In an abrasive way, but he adds

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

On the topic if "offensive"

the most offensive thing I ever read on here was when "somebody" told icebox that his son did not add and will not be missed.

There has never been a Maine player who tried harder and who tried to get his teammates going as much as son-of-icebox. There have been few who played through debitating injuries like he did... And one person had the nerve to put him down..

Last... Someone brought up the mist improbable thing I have read in a while
lkenney, I think noted that liedermark might be up for "player of the week" honors

rookie of the week us also a possibility.

This is pretty much the crux of his posts relating to Maine. I suggest that he just get over it, go buy a UMass-Lowell sweatshirt, and move on.

That being said, I really wish that SOMEONE would get to the heart of the recruiting situation and why all of these decommits have happened. Beyond those that just used Maine and never intended to play college hockey (the 15 year old Canadians that chose Juniors).......the recent decommits (Arnold, Searfoss, McNeely) are a different story.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Jimmy plays a tremendous game, 44 saves in regulation, loses in the shootout, Malkin and Crosby schooled him

I don't think there is any sort of hidden story. Arnold obviously felt hard done by because Maine wanted him to wait a year, which judging by his numbers this year was the correct call. I can see three reasons Seafross decommitted, he either is in love with dean blais, wanted to be closer to home, or UNO might have offered more money. When he committed he was playing in TX and largely unknown so he probably wasn't offered a lot. McNeely said he wanted to play closer to home and there really is no evidence to contradict that.

Started him on my fantasy team. Sucks that Detoilet hardly provides him with a little goal support to reward his hard work when he has to carry them.

If I recall correctly who the player was, he could have tried all he wanted but that group of players had zero respect for the coach. The result showed on the scoreboard.

I watched the game (thanks to you telling us about it :) ), Jimmy deserved a much better fate. The Penguins hammered him all game long. Fleury had 20 something saves. He made some very nice stops and the announcers really liked him. UMaine also got a little national PR.:) It's taken Jimmy 5 years to establish himself with the Redwings. He's made it.:)

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Interesting fact listed next to Maine in INCH's power rankings (Maine is 16th)... they're the only team so far to play a two game series at the Gut this year and not lose a game.
