I lived in England for nearly a year and then Bahrain for just over a year from '95-'97, and have been living in the Philippines since 2014.

Even if illegals were purchasing homes in great numbers (they can buy them and I can not find hard data around how many have done it) 1) the % is obviously minuscule and 2) corporations own an estimated 9% of residential land in the U.S.
 
That's exactly it. It is the 1%ers who are jacking up housing costs. And the only fix is government. And government can't fix it because of Republicans.

It's pretty hilarious that the only thing Republicans can come up with for Health Care is socialism. Which we all know is the answer, but they're supposed to be better than that.

Cool. I had a very hazy idea. Sounds a little like you and mookie may have crossed paths. Doesn't he work in an emirate and commute to SE Asia for sex tourism, or something?

What do you do in the Philippines, if I may ask.

I think mookie's time in the ME was well past mine.

I moved to the PH "on loan" with my then company to transition our then existing operations from India to the Philippines. The industry is BPO (business process outsourcing) which includes customer service, tech support, sales, marketing, brand development, supply chain management and our clients ranged from healthcare, to asset management, energy, pharmaceuticals, credit cards, home security, ecommerce, telcom, etc.

I stayed on after my assignment was up because the kids by then had found they really enjoyed their international school, Bangkok (home of my wife's family) was but a 3.5 hour flight away, we have hundreds of beaches within a short trip, and well it's just easy living.

A while I go went solo and started my own smaller shop concentrating on smaller businesses based primarily in the U.S., with a few others in England and Australia.

Someday at the F4. TBH it would be great to meet all of you. My only chance was 2003 but that was so early in the Cafe and also I wasn't in the right headspace at that time TBH. Pre-diagnosis and pre-medication clinical depression is a bitch.

I have met the Cornell contingent here, but IINM nobody else. Someday, when Casey hauls our asses back to the F4. Who knows? Maybe sooner than later.

I mean, it better not be too much later...

Sure Rand Paul is saying that...but have you checked out the plan the Senate is voting on? Its the crappy plan Trump floated 2 months ago that went over so bad he flipped and wanted the subsidies re-instated. The GOP is thumbing their nose at him and the voters.
