The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

Re: The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

Wisconsin will host a tournament called the Holiday Faceoff the next three seasons at the brand new Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Next season's participants will be UW, Arizona State, Clarkson and UConn. Dates are December 28 & 29.

*I think dates are incorrect due to it being a Monday and Tuesday - probably meant 26 and 27?*

**I confirmed with source on dates - X-mas falls on a Friday it complicates the scheduling of holiday tournaments, it's pushed to Monday and Tuesday. Expects the other holiday tournament to be New Years weekend instead.**

Re: The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

Western Michigan is not making a return trip to RPI next season or any season in the future. Dave Smith said it is a one year arrangement

The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

From a post on eLynah by jkahn

Great info sezenack on WMU and RPI!

ASU is having a tournament again after not having one in the 2019-20 season. Cornell is in that tournament like it was mentioned earlier in Ralph's quote.

Vegas will be back again with a new HE and new ECAC team in it.

RPI is confirmed to be making a return trip to Army after Army came here in 2018-2019

Re: The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

Ralph Baer: If Clarkson is at ASU 2 next season, or a tournament, the tournament would most likely be the Desert Classic.

I guess that I don't read this thread that often. CU in that post which I made, quoting jkahn on the eLynah board, is Cornell, not Clarkson.

Yea it's cleared up with the holiday tournament revealed having Clarkson in a tournament in Milwaukee with UConn and Wisconsin.

Cornell would be in a ASU tournament (location TBD) like a desert classic with 2 other teams rumored to be Omaha and Air Force.

Re: The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

Here's a look at much of Denver's home schedule for the 2020-2021 season. I'm missing the date for the game early in the season versus CC. The only NCHC team NOT coming to Magness Arena in the regular season in 2020-2021 is Miami.

Fri/Sat Nov. 13-14 North Dakota
Fri/Sat Nov 20-21 Nebraska-Omaha
Fri/Sat Dec 4-5 Arizona State
Fri-Sat Jan 1-2 Alaska Anchorage
Fri/Sat Jan 8-9 Minnesota Duluth
Fri/Sat Jan 29-30 St. Cloud
Fri/Sat Feb 19-20 Western Michigan
Fri Mar 5 Colorado College

Thanks! Probably means Denver is @CC March 6th. Spreadsheet is updated to date. Let me know if anything is incorrect and I'll fix it ASAP.

With the 2019/20 regular season ending and some conference tournaments starting this weekend, I'm sure some teams will start mentioning who they play in 2020/21. Let me know if you hear or see any news on out of conference opponents or confirmed dates.

Re: The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

Saw on the LSSU thread that Notre Dame will play at Lake Superior and Northern Michigan.

Not sure that the NMU portion is correct. Notre Dame is playing a single game at Michigan Tech, and I thought that was going to be the same weekend as the game at LSSU. The other game of that weekend for Tech will be the USA U-18 team. So unless there's a full series for either Northern or Lake State, I doubt that the Irish are making two trips to the UP.

I had heard Notre Dame would be playing a single game at Northern next year to repay the the single game NMU played at South Bend last season. And the US U-18 would be the other team on that weekend. The Cats played at their barn to start this season. So your scenario sounds about right.

Denver tweeted their non conference schedule:
Oct. 9-10, 2020 at Wisconsin
Oct. 16, 2020 at Boston College
Oct. 17, 2020 at Providence
Oct. 23, 2020 at Air Force
Oct. 24, 2020 vs. Air Force (Homecoming)
Dec. 4-5, 2021 vs. Arizona State
Jan. 1-2, 2021 vs. Alaska Anchorage

OK, that would jibe. That means ND would be playing a full series at Lake State? About time JJ took a team back there. Might even be worth a trip to see it.

Re: The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

I don't think I mentioned it previously:

NMU's 2020/21 non-conference:

- At North Dakota
- At GLI
- Colgate comes to MQT.
- BU comes to MQT.

Thanks RaceBoarder! I just had the GLI and BU games. I assume Dakota and Colgate will be 2 games each - that should cover their entire OOC.

Also means NMU will not be playing Notre Dame next season.

Re: The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

(off topic) The rest of the ECAC Playoffs have been canceled. Cornell, Clarkson, Qpac, and RPI will all compete in the NCAA Tournament. No champion this year.

You didn't get the memo - all NCAA games are cancelled for spring and winter...

Wonder if this means we'll start to get some news on non conf opponents soon or possibly earlier schedule releases to ease the pain?

Sorry, didn't catch on. Sucks for all teams. I think Cornell knew it could have been their year for a natty... excited for next season though.

Re: The 2020-21 Schedules Thread

Divver just tweeted that Cornell and Providence couldn't agree on a date so there won't be a game between them two in 2020-21.

Wonder who their replacement opponents are...
