Primaries in Michigan aren't until August, but the Republican gubernatorial candidate (Schuette) with the backing of Trump, Pence, and Walker is already focusing his attention on bashing the likely Democratic candidate (Whitmer), not even really paying attention to his current actual opponents. Very Trumpian strategy. He's also the same one I posted about in the States thread trying to get the anti-gerrymandering commission question off the November ballot.

Get ready, it's gonna be 4 months of Schuette tying her to Granholm, hollering about taxes, and pimping his Trump endorsement.

He'll win, too. She is a classic moderate Dem who isn't going to attack him.

lots of money being dumped into ME-2

incumbent Bruce Poliquin (R): made millions in the investment management industry, moved back to Maine to run for Governor, didn't get the party nomination (finished 6 out of 7) . he doesn't even live in the district, but benefited from ME-2's lurch right after the rise of the tea part and his deep pockets (before Bruce, this seat had been held by democrats for 20 years, since Olympia Snowe gave up her seat to run for the Senate)

Jared Golden (D), assistant majority leader of the Maine House of Representatives, who dropped out of college in 2002 to join the Marines, seeing combat as an infantryman in Afghanistan and Iraq, after leaving the service attended Bates College in Lewiston, ME near where he grew up.
