The 2018-19 Schedules Thread

Link to this year's spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qmduvEavIzlPZci4Y7UuB8wPuVSZZOOa3mdIjMgeea8/

Obviously with no information in the date area, no one to report as "effectively complete"*.

* Effectively complete meaning the school has released the schedule, or enough alternate information has been reported to determine the schedule is complete, minus exhibition games. Discretion will be used to determine whether WCHA teams will be using their entire allotment.

Re: The 2018-19 Schedules Thread

WCHA is on Year 2: The same schedule that has UAH hosting UAA, and playing UA_ four times.

eLynah link, which contains an attachment for the ECAC non-travel-partner schedule: http://elf.elynah.com/read.php?1,212037

Does HEA have the same opponents as last year only with the sites reversed? Or are we going to have to do the whole close/top/middle/bottom again to determine extra conference opponents?

Re: The 2018-19 Schedules Thread

Notices from last year's thread; I'll get them up on the sheet when I get time:

Quinnipiac @ BU (1)
Minnesota @ CCT/SLU
Wisconsin @ CCT/SLU
Bemidji @ Air Force
HF: Minnesota @ UND (Vegas)
HEA: 3x 17-18 == 3x 18-19
Wisconsin @ UND
Belfast: Union/Yale/BU/UCONN
ASU @ UAH 19-20 Oct
BC @ Wisconsin

Re: The 2018-19 Schedules Thread

You do a fantastic job with this each year. It is sincerely appreciated by those of us that like to plan. Thanks!!

It's my pleasure to do it, but the thanks really needs to go to everyone who helps throughout the off-season with providing information to compile this.

Re: The 2018-19 Schedules Thread

I’ve confirmed the following teams for Minnesota State next season. No official dates yet.

Boston University (in October)
AT North Dakota
Home and Home Minnesota
AT ASU’s Desert Hockey Classic

UMD will play the following:

AT Michigan Tech first weekend of the season
AT Notre Dame
AT Merrmicak
Hosting Maine
Home and home with Minnesota

Now UMD is playing Notre Dame and I heard it was at Notre Dame but then they would play more road non-conference games than home and I'm not sure that's the case. We shall see.

Re: The 2018-19 Schedules Thread

Yes, Hockey East is playing the same third games at opposite sites.

Thanks for the clarification. I put the matchups into the "Enter Info Here" section last year (obviously this year's was a copy), making an assumption that the 2nd home/away is the 3rd game (obviously not the technical case when involving UVM or Maine, but no one had 3 games at one location in this past year so it works out), so should be easy enough to put together.

Re: The 2018-19 Schedules Thread

Too bad Hockey East can not switch it around next year. It would be nice to have the 4 extra games
next year versus different teams.

From what I can tell, that will be the case in 2019-2020. We'll go through the close-upper-middle-lower tiers exercise again to figure out who it is; maybe I'll be able to figure out the algorithm and hope it isn't based on some RNG.

I thought it would be new extra opponents next year. For instance, we at Maine played New Hampshire three times in 16-17 (two in NH and one in Orono), and we played NH three times again in 17-18 (twice in Orono, once in Durham). I was under the assumption that we’d be getting a different slate of additional games since we had the same one two years in a row, with the locations inverted.

Just remember that the third game two seasons ago was a non conference neutral site game (in Manchester NH). It had nothing to do with the extra four hockey east games that started this year.

Re: The 2018-19 Schedules Thread

Its a two year rotation.

http://bangordailynews.com/2017/03/2...?ref=SportsBox

"Each Hockey East team will play six conference opponents twice and four teams three times apiece. The schedule is set up on a two-year rotation so teams play the same four opponents three times.

For example, UMaine’s extra games for 2017-2018 are against New Hampshire, Boston College, Boston University and Massachusetts. UMaine has the extra home game against New Hampshire and Boston University and plays twice on the road against Boston College and UMass.

The home-game arrangement is reversed for 2018-2019.

Bertagna and Hockey East director of communications Brian Smith said an algorithm was designed by Tim Danehy of collegehockeystats.net based on the 2015-2016 Hockey East standings to ensure the schedule is equitable."
