The 2016-17 Schedules Thread

Re: The 2016-17 Schedules Thread

Wow, none of that "either this day or that day" crud we saw in the past few years. I'm pleasantly surprised. :)

So either they are giving up on the "maximum TV exposure" for hockey or there will be changes/updates that come out later in the season that they will spring on us a few weeks in advance.

It is now June; let's jettison Frozen Fenway games and announce Hockey East schedule already!

Re: The 2016-17 Schedules Thread

Wonder if anyone could possibly do an historical chart of schedule release dates for all schools? Once done it can easily be updated yearly afterwards. I know BC is usually one of the last ones because they split time in their arena with the basketball team and thus have to wait for the ACC to finalize the Basketball schedule. Usually it is only a matter of which day of the weekend or time for the last few games to fill in. Occasionally a football game on a fall weekend throws things off a bit too but BC does not schedule Hockey home games the same day as Football. Any other schools have those same problems delaying their schedule release?

BC's last 5 years release dates: 9/10/15 9/2/14 9/3/13 9/7/12 9/9/11 so expect this year's release in the first 10 days of September.

OSU, Wisco, Northeastern and I believe BU (maybe UMass-Lowell too?) all have the same problem. There are probably others too. OSU and Wisco's schedules are already out, so I don't think thats the problem, unless the ACC figures out their schedule way after the Big Ten does. I think Hockey East is just being slow.

Re: The 2016-17 Schedules Thread

Last year the ACC released the Basketball schedule September 2 and the year before on August 27 so it took about 1 week after that to release BC's Hockey schedule. Also, not sure if UMass Lowell still plays Basketball at the Costello Gym on campus or at Tsongas.

Lowell plays a handful of basketball games at Tsongas, but most are still played at Costello.

Oh ya, UMass (Amherst) is the other one I was thinking of with a shared arena. Not UML. But still, the Big 10 hasn't released their BBall schedules and yet OSU and Wisco have their hockey schedules out. So I don't know if thats the issue with BC (it shouldn't be in BC's case if it is).

I have my own spreadsheet for AHC, and there is a tab on it with dates of historical releases for that conference...

I can't figure out how to link directly to that tab though.

Re: The 2016-17 Schedules Thread

Release dates is not something I have tracked, as the sheet has been pieced together as we go. If anyone would like to see it there, and possibly help with specific dates, I am willing to track it.

A lot of the Big Roll-a-D20 delays and "guesses" were because they were trying to schedule around handegg and squeaky. Wisconsin's usually known for getting NC info early, so it's not surprising everything's set for them. Ohio State has a relatively low number of home games (ASU weekend in January, UCONN, and a couple home/home), so I guess they didn't have too much of a scheduling challenge.

Re: The 2016-17 Schedules Thread

Brown thread states Brown goes to [Portland] Maine over Thanksgiving; I would assume it'll be the Saturday, but don't know for sure. Will pencil it in when I have the opportunity to access the sheet.

Correct. The Friday 11/4 (Boston College) and 2/10 (Notre Dame) games are also in Portland.
