Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

This is kind of strange.

Plug in these outcomes:

RMU over Canisius in AHA

Mich and PSU win B1G first round, with MSU ultimately prevailing over MN

St. Larrys over Quinn in ECAC

Mass-Lowell over UNH in HE.

SCSU over Miami in NCHC, with UND over DU in consolation

FSU over BG.

Unless I am reading it wrong, according the the "cut line" on the PWR predictor, there are 17 teams in that tournament!!

This URL doesn't show Ferris, but they would be in with an auto bid.

That is a nice scenario you found, one of the very few that would have BC not in the tourney. They currently have a 99% chance of making it but that would put them out with all the autobids of teams not already in it.

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

I got to work at 6:30. I worked through lunch. I've put in 9 hours already. I'm going to find some different PWR Predictor scenarios to share.

WCHA gets 4 teams in, including 2 #1 seeds: http://www.uscho.com/rankings/pairwise-predictor/pwp_55088da62ed4a/
WCHA gets 4, BIG gets 2, ECAC gets 2: http://www.uscho.com/rankings/pairwise-predictor/pwp_55088ee078056/
ECAC gets 3 teams in (almost 4): http://www.uscho.com/rankings/pairwise-predictor/pwp_5508903f9a520/

May work on more later

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

Anyone have any idea of the Providence Regional game times on the 28th and 29th?

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

3 and 6:30 ET on March 28th and 5 PM ET on March 29th.

If I read this correctly:
http://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-...vision-i-mens-hockey-regionals-go-sale-oct-28

Talk about ambiguous, I would hope the East would start before South Bend due to the time difference, a 5:30 start will make that drive home on Sunday more palatable. Quote the NCAA The East Regional at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island and the Midwest Regional at the Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, Indiana will be played March 28-29. Game times for one regional will be 3 and 6:30 p.m. ET on March 28, with the regional final being played at 5 p.m. ET on March 29. The other regional will play at 4 and 7:30 p.m. ET on March 28, with the regional championship at 7:30 p.m. ET on March 29.

Indeed. With South Bend being in the Eastern Time Zone they should get the later games given Providence is in the Eastern Time Zone.

In his defense, Indiana didn't adopt Daylight Savings Time until 2006, so prior to that, they would have been an hour behind.

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

there is nothing else to do in the winter in Grand Forks anyway, the lone tree that grows there doesn't grow in the winter.

Someone is obviously jealous of all the homegrown talent Grand Forks produces. Perhaps if the Gophers had any homegrown talent, they wouldn't be at risk of missing the tournament again.

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

Whioux fans are the reason I will not feel sorry when their state's boom economy busts. :)

How butthurt did they get when INCH tweeted the truth about them?

Oh, and um, Pairwise.

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

Last time the homegrown discussion happened, which the no nickname fans have probably forgotten from being drunk so often (nothing else to do between games in ND), the king troll ignored the dictionary definition of homegrown. I'm hoping Gopher fans don't bite on it again. I won't post non-hockey related again in here since this is not the place.

I think it's safe to say which fanbase is more intelligent overall, though I've heard it's getting harder to get into UND now that you have to be able to spell your first name AND last name.

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

Take it elsewhere. There is no need for a Minnesota-UND dick measuring contest in the pairwise thread.

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

I clicked on that link Biddco posted but since it was a release from October it doesn't hold much weight with me. We still don't know official game times, do we?
