THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

Complete joke that a Northeastern team that is on a 15-4-3 run can only muster 15 points in the USCHO poll.

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

interesting tidbit from uscho's column:

To put all four teams on a leave playing field, sources reported that the TD Garden and each of the four schools pooled funds to allow both Northeastern and Harvard to charter back to Boston after Saturday’s game. For each team, the extra rest and a night’s sleep in each player’s own bed as opposed to on a bus could be helpful.

Nah, QFs are the final 4 series between the last 8 teams... BU will be playing in that round for sure.

Good luck to both teams tonight. Let me know who wins the early game...

You're right. Meant the first round.

Edit: Of course, what I was replying to didn't make such sense. Oh well. Let it go, I misinterpreted the post I was replying to.

Because it's the Garden that determines the section for the bands. The BU Band has finagled there way into the student sections the last few years.

They need to sell seats, so they designate two band sections, one in 313 or whatever it is and the other around 328. Each section accommodates two schools so they can sell the corresponding seats in 304/319 instead of reserving four sections for the bands.

Amazing, but irrelevant - especially tonight. Why do they do these polls? Is it just one more thing that people can bet on?

15 votes. That's an improvement of about 14 votes. NU had to lose a game in order to get the additional votes. We've beaten 6 of the teams ahead of us since we learned how to play.

Forget the poles.

They're 21st in the ranking that matters, hopefully they win tonight and move up a few more spots.

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

So why would the bands not be where they usually are, tonight. It would be stupid to move them.

Because the sections were designated and the seats sold before anyone knew who was playing in the final game. So if you get two teams who are seated adjacent, one band would move so that they wouldn't be next to each other.

Hmmm....so they split a pair on the road and lose 14 votes from last week. Yup, makes sense to me.

Somewhat related: KRoy seems to have picked up ~500 votes in the Hobey beauty pageant over the past week.

Out west, the beanpot is considered by many to be .... a pile of beans. We grow them, you eat them, I guess.

Anyway ... how to deflate a hockey puck ... hmm. Maybe a couple syringes of nitric acid, by injection. Wait a bit and ... voila. ;)
