THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

haven't attended beanpot in years so doesn't matter to me but have to believe somebody will show up tomorrow thinking it's still on? ;)

no bruins road game tuesday so i'm assuming NESN is still good to go with coverage. players from four teams just collectively cracked a beer and settling in for super bowl...

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

All of you young kids (that also means you, Millenials) have gone soft. Why, when I was a student, we'd fight our way through armpit deep snowdrifts, barefoot, cuz we couldn't afford shoes, just to get to the Gahden for the Beanpot. And once there, we'd stay for both games and sustain ourselves on soggy hot dogs and droopy pizza slices. You guys (and gals) don't know how to live. ;)

I hate it when I have to quote myself.

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

I just received an email from BC indicating that the prelim round games have been moved to Tuesday, due to the anticipated storm.

With all the media focused on the Superbowl win, I'm sure odds are that at least several of 17,000 people will miss hearing the games have been pushed back a day.

It's not just Boston. There are watch parties all over the country and no practical way to spread the word about the postponement.

Sure there is. These events are usually promoted via email and when you RSVP you give your email. They send confirmations so they can just send a cancellation.

It looks horrible out there so I'm glad they made the decision to move it to tomorrow.

Agree that those who pre-registered will know but there are always walk-ups and people who don't check their mail.

My general stance is if there is a storm that is expected to drop around a foot or more of snow and you go to a previously scheduled event in the middle of it without checking if it was canceled you deserve to waste your time travelling there and back for nothing.

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

if people were thinking of walking up and buying tickets they would've looked out the window and decided against it

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

We haven't even gone thru tonight's games and I'm already stressing about next week - forecast calls for more snow Sunday night/Monday. #makeitstop
