The 2015-16 Schedules Thread

Re: The 2015-16 Schedules Thread

Yes, but I don't believe that you have to claim the exemptions if you can't use them. Of course, they stand as much chance of being tournament-eligible as UAH did in 12-13. ;)

GFM

Claiming exemptions?! It's a NCAA sports schedule, not filling out your taxes! :p Games eligible for exemption are always exempt, and one of the things I track is how many games towards the 34 game limit a team plays. If they're able to play more, I'll note that. Some teams won't even get to 34 before noting exemptions; it's happened a few times in Atlantic. And as we've seen in the WCHA recently, teams may not play all 34. Doesn't mean they aren't "claiming exemptions", rather they don't want to play their full complement. Obviously we want to see more hockey, but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

The only exception to tracking up to 34 I make is with the Ivy League, because they have special rules. Their league only allows members to play 29 games that count, but does not have a limit on exhibitions or "scrimmages", so long as the NCAA limits are met.

Re: The 2015-16 Schedules Thread

From the Colgate thread: (the weekend mentioned out of context here is Providence; Colgate is home for that one)

Halloween weekend, final non-conference series before league play. Other NC foes in October include Mercyhurst (x2), Northeastern and RIT. The rest of the non-conference games will be in November (Friendship Four vs Northeastern/Lowell) and January (Catamount Cup w/UVM, LSSU, Brown; Maine [x2])

Nebraska Omaha FULL 2015-16 schedule: http://www.omavs.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=795015&SPID=135111&DB_OEM_ID=31400&Q_SEASON=20153
NC games not on the spreadsheet for UNO are Oct 9-10 @ Minnesota State and Oct 17-18 @ Vermont.

A schedule that includes UNO's first ever meeting with the Catamounts as well as, obviously, ASU, taking UNO's "never played" list down to 6 schools, Brown, RPI (we tried), Northeastern, PSU, RMU, and Sacred Heart.

Re: The 2015-16 Schedules Thread

Another sidebar to UNO's schedule.

Note that the starting time for all Friday night games here are now the same as Saturday night games, 7:07 P.M.

The new arena is more centrally located (read: no longer all the way back east--downtown) and the games have been moved back, time-wise, as a result.

7:37 P.M. start times for Friday nights are no more.

Re: The 2015-16 Schedules Thread

FlagDUDE08 - On your schedule spreadsheet, if I pass over any of the cells containing "Liberty Invitational" another box appears stating that it is in Brooklyn, New York. I believe it was held in Newark, NJ the first 2 years, and I see on a Maine-related thread that it will be in Trenton, NJ this year. Do you (or whoever posted the info on the spreadsheet) know anything more regarding the location?

Anticipating I may see replies from others like this - "...if he knows more it would have already been posted", I'm only asking because I've seen different information in another thread (nothing confirmed as far as I know), and I can't find anything regarding the 2015 Liberty Invitational by searching online.

I was under the impression that it was played at the new Islanders rink. If it is in Trenton, I will certainly change it.

The LHI doesn't have attendances suitable for an NHL rink so it has been moved to Trenton. When I'm at my PC I'll edit this with the name of the arena.

And yes, the lack of information online about the tournament is disturbing.

Edit: Sun National Bank Center

Re: The 2015-16 Schedules Thread

I have also learned that the Maine-UNH series will be December 29 (Portland) and December 30 (Manchester). The Hockey East games will be December 4&5.

I would ask our friends from Colgate if it's possible that series with Maine is scheduled for Alfond Arena this season with the return trip next season. I ask because Maine can schedule 36 games and now has 34, but only 12 at Alfond. Even if the remaining series is scheduled at home, that leaves only 14 home games which is awfully light. Regardless of location, that series will be January 8-9 as both teams only have those dates free.
