The 2012 Presidential Election Part I - The guns of August

Re: The 2012 Presidential Election Part I - The guns of August

In the 50s it was Sharks vs Jets.

Now it is knuckledraggers vs libtards.

It would be fun to update the knife fight from the Beat It! video accordingly!

Based on The Dark Knight Rises, I'd like to see

Re: The 2012 Presidential Election Part I - The guns of August

Do you mean Romney ver. 08 running in '08, or Romney ver. 12 running in '08? :D

In a sense that's unfair, as Romney's basic philosophy has remained unchanged all these years. He's an Opportunist.

You say that as if it were a bad thing, exposing once again your total ignorance. Steve Jobs also was an Opportunist; Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, Warren Buffett.....

There is another name for that; it is called Successful Business Person. You find something that works, you go to the market with it and see how much profit you can make.

I suppose you think that the food you ate today was provided to you out of altruism? the keyboard you are typing on was a nice public service?

Do you even know how much naivete you reveal when you think you are being clever?

Hmm. Anecdotally, I'll bet I couldn't find any conservative who has ever said anything like that. And sadly, Flag has us liberals pegged, because last week we all got together in Kepler's mom's basement and voted Ellen Barkin our official spokesperson. :(

Did she serve organic munchies?

Stay classy...conservatards. ;) Stay lucid Rush.

“It’s the Democrats’ wet dream that this thing hit New Orleans,” he said.

“It will show our compassion,” the conservative radio host added later. “And it’ll do something else: Once we publicize that we have sent 500 bags of money — well, whatever number of bags — bags filled with money to shore up the levees, what will happen? The poor of New Orleans will storm the levees and steal the bags, thereby putting themselves at risk for the eventual flooding that’ll happen once they remove the bags. That way Republicans can get rid of even more Democrats in Louisiana and shore up the state for themselves.”

I just saw a report showing that approximately 0% of African Americans are voting for RMoney. :D

Is that within the "margin of error?" The issue, of course, isn't percentages it's turnout.

I think you misread it. It's Romney wants 0% of African Americans voting.

Hmm...I have a paper copy of The New York Post from last week in which it says that about 80% of African Americans support Obama this year....down from 94% in 2008.

The pollsters speculate that it's his "stand" on gay marriage that is behind the shift.

Re: The 2012 Presidential Election Part I - The guns of August

That's an improvement for Rush, given that earlier it was Obama screwing with the NWS maps to make everyone think that the storm was heading for Tampa to make the Republicans cancel day 1 of their convention.

(....because what Obama needs most is the Republicans to stop talking.)

C'mon, he explained that. His thinking "evolved." So when he said all that anti-gay marriage sh*t in '08 it wasn't opportunism, he was just unevolved. And up 'til just recently, his repeatedly stated view on the matter was indistinguishable from the CEO of Chick-fil-a or that idiot Akin for that matter.

Couldn't the GOP have just hired Pat Robertson to "pray" the storm away? "Mac and cheese, is that a black thing?"

Supposedly Westboro was going to protest the Republican convention (of the two conventions....why?). I was wondering if that would cause the Lord to swing the hurricane back that way in an effort to get them to stop giving him such bad PR.

Re: The 2012 Presidential Election Part I - The guns of August

96% Republican
53% Libertarian
18% Democrat
9% Green

I side with Romney 96%.

About what I expected.

edit: I'm a little surprised it was that high republican, though, as I selected pro-choice and yes to queer hitchings.

Do you think that it is possible for someone's opinion to evolve on such an issue? Question not just for OP but for the whole board.

I used to be against gay marriage and pro-life, but then I got so sick of such stupid ****, and realized that I really don't care one way or an another. I look at it as, get that trivial crap out of the way so we can fix the stuff that actually matters.
