The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

SteveP

Alien With an Attitude
Since it's raining here today AGAIN! I figured that I'd start a golf thread by paying tribute to Kevin Na and his 16 on the par-4 9th hole during Thursday's opening round of the Valero at the Texas Open in San Antonio.

May we never spend as much time in the woods as Na!

I honestly think I could do better on that hole..

How about the Masters last week? What a great finish we had!

I don't know if anyone cares, but Rory McIlroy is -11 in Africa without his own clubs after an -8 64 yesterday. Masters winner Charl Schwartzel is -2.:p

Perhaps Rory should have used someone else's clubs on Sunday. ;) He'll win a Masters some day after learning a lesson last weekend.

As for Mr. Na, he could take a lesson from this guy. :D

Don't know about the rest of you, but we've had so much rain in the State College area that the range at the PSU courses hasn't opened. I've played all of 29 holes between storms, and have had more work days at the course cancelled than I can count.

League play starts on Tuesday - the forecast is for showers through Wednesday.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

After my own struggles on a nasty par 5, my playing partner pointed out to me that there was a piece of s**t on the end of my club and when I turned it over to look at it, he said "No, not that end."

Oh no -- don't start with the golf jokes!! :p

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

It's been an abysmal spring for golfing hear in the NE also. I've played 9 holes thus far which brings my per hole cost so far this year to about $500..

haha give it two more months and you'll have that number down a lot.:)

The weather was teasingly beautiful early this week, and then took a downhill plunge starting wednesday.

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

The best part of the Kevin Na story? He had a 16 and STILL manager to shot 80.

Hope to get my first round in tomorrow.

Two days without rain here - but 45 degrees with 20 mph winds. Rain again tomorrow and could keep coming through the middle of next week.

If I ever get to play this year, I'll be taking advantage of some rule changes. :D

always like watching harbour town. great golf course. easily the smallest greens i've ever played. any putt is makeable.

I have always wanted to play there.
My putting has been saving me tons of strokes thus far this spring. Our team shot 313 in absolutely atrocious weather earlier this week, not too shabby for a high school team.:p

Birdie-birdie!!!

Today I started bogey bogey, and in my last 16 holes I went -3 and shot my first round under par!:D went 39-32-71 :p my first six holes on the back side were par-bird-bird-par-bird-bird! Finally had beautiful weather, 65 degrees, sunny, and no wind. Scoring conditions:)

Re: The 2011 Golf Thread - In Honor of Kevin Na!

RIP Seve.

my inspiration growing up... hit it as far as you can, not caring where it went. go find it and get it on the green. now has become the "strength" of my game -- hitting out of the woods onto the green :D

Strange end to CBS' coverage of today's final round of the Wells Fargo. The announcers mics somehow went off-line for the playoff hole. Just nat sound from the vrowd mics and the background music.
