The best part of this is the 90% of my co-workers who are Tea Partiers just got the word our program is going to freeze, and they're all standing around with their thumbs up their asses saying, "wait a minute? Fox News said this would only hurt THE DARKIES?!!!"

And they can't afford it. Seriously, unless this gets settled very quickly (say, a couple days), they will have literally just cut their own throats. The last 20 years of self-destroying lower-middle class GOP support in microcosm.

Yup. OTOH, my daughter picked today to ask me whether we'd pay for her to have a semester abroad in Italy.

She has very bad timing. ;)

Actually it's such a once in a lifetime chance I'd pay for her to go even if the stoppage lasted a year and my wife and I were boiling Proust novels to add ruffage to Ramen noodles.

But she doesn't have to know that just yet. Let her sweat...

Again, you say in so few words what takes me an entire book.

I apologize for the digression:

The number of double standards in our system is just mind boggling - they don’t get much attention. When we default on a payment, we get reprimanded and our processions taken. Our livelihoods depend, supposedly, on our ‘borrow worthiness’, which is the biggest scam of the century. Yet, when those with bigger stakes undertake in reckless borrowing, gambling and speculation…they get rewarded.

There is a great quote from the second matrix movie ( oxymoron?) that goes as follows ‘ Choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without’.

I am so far done believing a truly honorable system can ever exist. These terms are injected into society so the dumb idiot masses believe in them and stay in line. Nothing more. Wall street banks like goldmans wouldn’t want anyone doing what they do and reaping the rewards. We all can react several ways. One is to hate on the system. The other is to accept it and adopt the ‘ if you can’t beat it, join it’, and the last is just to leave. Don’t be a part of it. That’s my plan. If it means leaving UNH hockey behind, so be it  knowing my luck, they’ll win 2 national titles 5 years after I leave!

Digression over.

Here is a good piece of news. POMOs are still going on despite potential government shut down. Figures , right? heheh

We think the same on things like that then. My daughter is a French student and she's going to France with the High School next year. Even if I have to borrow to do it.

Where have we heard this before? Fox played with poll numbers (again) to show Americans want the GOP to stand firm and shut the government down when poll respondents said exactly the opposite. But I'm sure it was just a mistake...again.


Oh, and the numbers still aren't indicative of public opinion. Those are the numbers when only Republicans are polled.

So, you're saying that the GOP is a bunch of hyprocrites when they blame the Democrats for this mess? Boy, oh, boy, color me shocked. Can't wait to pass the Ryan bill with more tax increases for those ****ing teachers and more tax breaks for Donald Trump.

Speaking of the Donald, anybody else hear him go hard core birther on the Today show this AM? Jesus, he's got detectives all over Hawaii, and he's shocked at what they're telling him. He's wants to believe Obama's legit, but he just can't do it, and since Obama's the worst president ever, Trump's just gonna have to run. Un-effin-believable.

He's a hoot, birthers poll well in NH so he is playing to the polls. Its a publicity stunt, he must have something big coming up

The local newspaper has a call in line and there was someone who was touting how Trump was sounding intelligent and would be a great next president. That is only my favorite one. Next favorite-Of course O has singlehandedly let the oil co. raise gas prices and no media is covering the rising prices at all (wondering how they figured it out then~~all those kickbacks he is getting I am sure) I am sure there are intelligent life forms in this city but maybe they are all in hiding? :rolleyes:
