Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

.
Wisconsin State Sen. Bob Jauch, Democrat from Ashland and Bayfield, said on Wednesday that Gov. Scott Walker may not have unanimous support among Republicans in the state senate for his assault on unions.

“There are six to seven Republican senators that hate this bill, really hate this bill,” said Jauch on WOJB radio this morning. Republicans outnumber Democrats 19-14 in the state senate, so if three vote against it, the bill would die.

Jauch says he’s been in touch with his Republican counterparts and they are “trying to come up with an alternative.”

Jauch called Walker’s bill “The Worker Retribution Act,” and said the governor is “attacking workers to benefit the Koch Brothers,” the rightwing billionaires in Texas who lavishly funded his campaign.

Jauch added: “Walker wrapped this bomb in a package and called it a cake.”

Jauch also predicted that some Republican legislators who support Walker’s bill would face a recall effort.

Unlike the Republican senators, Walker says the Democratic senators are united.

Speaking from an undisclosed location in Illinois, he said none of them wants to be the one who hands Walker a victory.

If the government shuts down, am I allowed to stop paying taxes?

Taxes are not just paying for govt services.

You are free to stop paying taxes anytime...US citizenship is totally voluntary.

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

I'm curious as to why, if 6 or 7 Republicans hate the bill so much, the Democrats won't come back to Wisconsin. Seems to me if they team up with each other, they have more than enough votes to defeat the bill.

So the 40 something % that don't pay taxes should have their citizenship revoked?

Hey if they found away to escape that hellhole you best believe they never want to come back! ;) (this story rocks for the Sconnie jokes alone!)

The best part of the TDS clip is the end where they show how both MSNBC and Fox flipped their beliefs based on who was doing the protests.

Being opposed to the bill does not mean they'll go against their party and vote against it. They need the political courage to follow their convictions. Remember peer pressure in high school, or "keeping up with the Joneses" today?

Those 40% are doing so legally. JF has another two options that I didn't mention. Stop collecting a salary or change the law. I don't expect him to be able to change the law so he doesn't have to pay taxes...so its pretty much stop making money or give up his citizenship. That's pretty much the deal he's making with US citizenship. Take it or leave it.

I'd stop making money if the things i needed and/or wanted stopped costing money.

If everyone stopped charging for products and services the world would be a better place!

Agreed...but as we've seen, communism has its flaws. :)

How stupid are people complaining about her by acting like she eats nothing but these kinds of foods?

she's the hooker who decided to tell America that eating dessert was bad and that unless you eat healthy you're a bad person. I'm just saying practice what you preach. Wouldn't kill her to encourage America to hit the treadmill

What's most important is that we rip anyone trying to encourage behavior that's both healthy for themselves and society as a whole...just because we disagree with some aspect of their lifestyle or more probably their politics.

Absolutely.

THey just interviewed someone on TV regarding the nutritional value of what she ate and that the portion size was the thing to look at as well as what the food was. I couldn't believe anyone would actually be that petty to be talking about this and then viola. I tell people to eat healthy all the time. I am not always eating healthy. does this negate that my advice is good?

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

I don't have a problem with her "encouraging" healthy diets. I just don't want her to spend my money doing it. When she says she wants to spend $400 Million to eradicate 'food deserts', that goes beyond just encouragement. The reason inner cities don't have super markets is that they get robbed Michelle!!!

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

Yes:).

Living by example is a pretty strong message. Shes obviously not overweight so I'd say her example is pretty good. I don't see it as a big deal unless it becomes a Al Gore like pattern and then she takes a credibility hit. For the most part its much ado about nothing. One other thing Deserts are hardly why folks are fat, read the label, processed food of any kind is killing America not deserts

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

Disagree. Stupid fatasses who don't get off the couch are killing America.

Processed food is hardly the culprit. It's one of those boogeymen that are pointed at all the time. Just like when someone sees the word "chemical" and freaks out. It's the same reason we don't call an MRI machine what it is. I'll give you a hint, it has the word "nuclear" in it. *GASP*
