Tennis...Anyone?

Re: Tennis...Anyone?

Fox: "YES!"

(Looks at Gauff)

"Crap."

That's not going to change anytime soon. The top three American women right now are Sloane Stephens, Serena, and Madison Keys. Okay, Serena may change soon, but Stephens and Keys will be there for awhile.

Side note, looking at Gauff's career earnings, she's at 60k. This includes 14k from a second round loss in the qualifier for the French Open, and $68 for a first round qualifying loss at some tournament in Mexico. That would be one depressing check.

This is awesome. The tennis community* is even more racist than the figure skating community, if that's possible. They make golf look evolved.

Now we need a Wakanda entry in the America's Cup.

* When I was going to a tennis coach in rural Maryland all the kids enrolled in the tennis camps were Indian. The old guard was walking around like they were surrounded by terrorists. My extremely nice, evangelical, lily white coach confided in me (white skin is a great disguise) that she felt "awkward" around "them." I watched the kids running around playing and guess what? They were just kids having an awesome time being kids.

Racists are so f-cked up.

The tall, leggy, blonde in a white dress wearing a white visor is defeating the other tall, leggy, blonde in a white dress wearing a white visor.

I hate Wimbledon's dress code.

It's OK; the winner's gonna get knifed by the short Negro wearing a Fear of a Black Planet shirt under her white dress.

As someone said on Fark, if John ***** McEnroe could abide by it without throwing a fit, who cares. The pros can handle wearing white 2 weeks a year.

I for one would pay to see John McEnroe play in a white dress.

More of a Renée Richards thing.

Ewwww.

Fine. Wear white. Does EVERY player have to wear the same dammed thing? I was watching the match and couldn't keep the two players separate because they looked like twins.

In 25 years when ESPN does the 30 for 30 on her today will be one of the key moments when it started to go wrong. I hope she makes it, but I think this week is one of the worst possible things that could have happened for her.
