Indeed, to piggy-back on top of your earlier post on the dominance of the Big Four, since the start of 2004, the Big Four won 47 of the 54 Majors.

It looks like Federer has become comfortable with his new, larger racket. He used to slice a lot more backhand returns than he does now, he hits through the backhand now with a lot more pace and topspin than before.
He also seems to be using his tennis intelligence quite a bit more than his competitors.
Against the baseline bashers, or big booming servers, you will notice how close in he stands on the court compared to most others; so that he can catch the ball on the rise (where most others wait until after it has bounced fully). While he might have to sacrifice some power by blocking the ball back, he makes up for it in two ways: accuracy, and in rushing his opponent's follow-up response (i.e., disrupting their rhythm). He cuts out not only the extra time for the ball to reach him were he to stand further back, he also cuts out the bit of time it takes for the ball to go back again.

She was going well and then when she didn't convert the two set points basically gave up. It's crazy to see someone lose nine games on the bounce in a grand slam final.

I can see the old boy bagging his 20th before its all said and done. Don't understand tennis rankings but don't get how he isn't #1 in the world. GOAT beyond a doubt. He didn't lose a freakin' set the whole tournament.
Nadal won the French Open and probably played in more tournaments up to this point in the year. It's between those 2 for #1 rank for the year. No one else close.

He only played two grand slams last year and didn't play again after Wimbledon. He actually dropped all the way to 16th before starting again in January.

What a bizarre match. It was almost like Fed was trying to help a fellow Nike wearer. With that being said, no doubt in my mind Tiafoe is next American to win a grand slam. I'm super impressed with him, and not just because of last night.
