To elaborate, probably better suited for the actual maine thread than a new one but whatever...Doesn't really matter.

I guess now i am at least eager to look at the standings jan 1

Historically speaking, that's when Pairwise starts to matter ;)

But to your point, yes, this discussion is more suited to the Maine thread. If the topic was more of a "Yahoo covers college hockey" type of vibe, then sure it should be its own topic. However, I no longer run the board so we can't do everything my way :p

If they don't beat Brown this Saturday, then it will be a long season...and to some point it already has since the first two weeks of the season. Looking for progress and that has been wiped out...lots of questions on why.

Maine really wouldn't be looking at a gimme vs. the Moose Snout HS JV team.

I actually admire your optimism, but the over/under for wins this year is still at 12 at best, and it's looking a lot more like 11 to me, if not 10.
 
Maine still has a shot at being .500 . Not bad when you consider last season. And they were 32 in pwr, probably dropped after beating the number 60 team in pwr. :)

The PW is adjusted so as not to punish a team for a "bad win" like the Brown game... But, yeah, that win didn't help. Maine dropped because their W/L vs. SOS is looking weaker right now, with the additional data available from last weekend.

Miami, RPI, Colgate... All looking like bad teams right now, and Maine wasn't impressive at all against even that group. I suspect the HE schedule coming up is going to be a meat-grinder for our guys.
