SUNYAC 25-26 The start of a new era

Just looked at the over all records of other conferences and the the YAC and our conference might be called the YUC. The YAC use to be one of the better conferences but now we are looking way up from a deep hole. How can the state schools keep up with the privates since we are now in the pay to play era?? It would be nice to read any solutions.

Number 1 and number 4 in NPI must say something.

It's worth noting the 4 biggest public school programs in ny (oz platty Geneseo and Cortland ) all have around 16-18 frosh on their roster including plattys 13 freshman. We all have some young rosters and it's not normal to win right away with so little experience. Cortland and Geneseo spent all last year nationally ranked and 1 made the frozen four. Let's see how they progress and handle the new recruiting changes before we get too judgemental.

Easy, we just add private schools to the SUNYAC- like #1 Hobart.;):D

Sound and Video was off by 1-2 seconds, but video was pretty good. A great show of resolve and patience for the Lakers. Really surprised that Manzi got the start. Thought Milberg would have started. Special teams the huge difference tonight. A really good weekend for the Lakers.

We had a simliar discussion earlier in the year. Yes, the SUNYAC is down this year, depth wise, despite adding Hobart.

I don't think it has anything to do with the mostly mythical D3 pay to play era. But we know that some private schools have gotten more aggressive in helping out with tuition within D3 rules. Having said that, one year is not a pattern. Merely an abberation ... until it becomes more than one year.

From what I hear there are several D3 players getting NIL $$$ is some sports,I would imagine if the school, alum have the $$$ then its legit.....
There are some for sure. I know of a few. And it can make a difference for some teams building their roster. But it's not many and it's not much to make a huge difference overall. Yet.

Here is an interesting thought. Sort of like the situation with Texas A&M softball. If you get one top booster/alum who is gung ho over a certain sport at the local D3 school, they can definitely tip the scales big time in D3. I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened yet. Like a Plattsburgh or Norwich in hockey or back in my day Potsdam in basketball or Oneonta or Hartwick in soccer (remember, they were both D1 in soccer at one time), etc.
