SUNYAC 2026..additions and subtractions...and Tomfoolery...

I think if you look back at the rosters for Oz we do this every 4 yrs, not ideal but shit happens....
One problem I believe is when teams bring multiple transfer students. That creates issues because the team might have 6 Sophomores returning but then brings in 4 transfers so that class went from 6 players to 10. But like you said sometimes shit happens, and they need to bring in those transfers.

is it me or does Platty have 32 on the roster???
You are correct. I guess Moffitt is going with the mind set of there are only 3 who will be on the bench, the coaches, for certain. So it will be a battle royal and then transfer out when no ice time comes. Can create a picture that coach doesn't care about or develop his recruits. Just my thoughts.

Despite every staff's best attempts, not every recruit works out. Last year's team had a lot of injuries and it was difficult to dress a healthy lineup most weekends. Maybe the extra bodies serve both as competitive and need. The SUNYAC has gotten better top to bottom. I'm sure a .500 season and sixth place finish is not acceptable after three previous conference game finals.

If you take out Hobart the conference has slipped. The only real surprise is Canton and Cortland. I hope the 2 continue to improve for a 2 horse race is boring. Genny was the third horse and Cortland has had a sprinkler of success laterly.

If Cortland and Platty can return to form it might also be the deepest sunyac weve ever had. As u said it was always a 3 horse race. Dont forget skidmore made 2 NEHC title games in a loaded conference and finished 3rd last year with like 14 freshman. Would it really be that suprising if the sunyac became a multi bid league with any combination of Hobart, Oz, Platty, Cortland, and Skidmore?

Not at all with those names. Those are all programs with top 15 ranking potential year in and year out (Cortland might be the least likely) as they really only had about a 2-3 year window of success when they have been pretty dreadful for decades.

yea I think k we hung 20 on the red dragons back in the day, and that was against a goalie that had transferred from Ozz...it was so bad I even had a goal and 6 assists, even a squirrel finds a nut once in-a-while:p:p:p.

Saw a Facebook comment (I know, not exactly the best source) but it stated goal judges were brought back this year? Can anyone confirm or deny?

I was looking at the Morrisville website and their new coach is a former Goaltending Coach who worked with D1 goalies and is a Gold Level Goaltending Coach for USA Hockey and the new Assistant Coach is also a former Goaltending Coach who also worked with D1goalies.
So, you're saying their strength will be in goaltending... :)

You never know they did recruit a BIG goalie (6'6" 227 lbs) from the CCHL with some pretty good numbers last year he was 24-8 with a .926 SV% and 2.37 GAA on top of having Chad Lowe come back so they may have some good goaltending.
