Feel like I'm getting attacked for sharing information. I was just as surprised as anyone that the coaches would come forward with this information.

Look I'm a fan of SLU like the rest of you. Obviously I've touched a nerve and I don't blame you for doubting me or being upset about it. I'm just as disappointed as you all are! Like I said hopefully some of them change their minds.

All I'm saying is just prepare yourself because I don't believe the coaches would have said anything if it wasn't true

There should be an announcement next week regarding who our new head coach is going to be.

Hopefully we will get more clarity after that.

Regardless of whether all the recruits decide to come or not I think next year will still be a good one. Just might effect us the year after that.

That being said I don't think SLU should make it easy for any recruited players that have signed an NLI to go elsewhere. I really don't see why our program should release them. If they want to play elsewhere make them sit out a year...especially if they want to follow Carvel to Umass.

If it makes you feel better, I'm happy to report to you that we are fine with are recruits that are coming this fall.

Okay, so let's play devils advocate for a second and say that what you are saying is in fact true (which it is not). Then, maybe you consider that when someone tells you something that would be considered inside information, as this would appear to be (fake/truthful or not), that you shouldn't immediately run to a public forum and spout it out for all of the world to see. Who would that benefit for you to post that here in a public forum? Certainly not St. Lawrence and certainly not the other fans here who have been able to gather inside information from those in the know but actually manage to keep it a secret. Perhaps the next time this supposed source you have (HA!) decides to give you more inside information, he might think twice about doing it and decide not to.

It will be interesting if you go Morris to see how he changes his recruiting landscape compared to when at Clarkson, Carvel had a nice Prep connection that I was not looking forward to down the road for Clarkson and I had the opinion SLU was going to top 4 year in year out. In his ladder years at Tech we definitely saw the recruiting struggles come about and he couldn't just get whoever he wanted in Canada and it reflected on the ice.

I thought sharing information was one of the purposes of a public forum...my mistake. I would also suggest that if they cared about the information being made public they shouldn't have said anything...a really novel idea I know.

But let's just for the sake of interest accept that some of the recruits want to go elsewhere now. Do you feel SLU should release them from their NLI obligation especially if they intend to go to Umass?

If there are recruits who come forward and ask for that, yes. At the end of the day, I want student-athletes to play for SLU that WANT to be there. If their heart is elsewhere due to recent events, then they should be allowed to follow that path, whether I agree with the idea or not.

But seriously, whether your "inside information" is credible or not (I also don't believe you've heard squat from "coaches"), some things do get divulged as "OFF THE RECORD". Meaning, NOT for public knowledge on an admittedly somewhat obscure college hockey message board.

Wrong. Our coach left for more money and will be replaced with someone better if alums have any say. Your coach got fired for assault. It will not be Morris behind the bench at Appleton without people calling for the AD's resignation. Morris might end up back in the NCAA but it won't be at SLU unless Durocher has suffered a head blow. I wish Morris well, but circumstances dictate he can't be the candidate selected. And the other MM from Cushing is still planning to come to SLU.

SLUFAN, you are trying to start rumors which are not true. I am certain there are no "coaches" feeding you fictitious information. Good for Carvy releasing kids. But last time I checked this is an SLU forum where most of us don't give two plops about a last place HEA team with 43 fans. The players and recruits to SLU have a candidate that should be hired in a heartbeat and we'll wish Carvel well as we win a lot with our new HC. One reason recruits come to a school is the team of players they join and we have as good a group as there is anywhere.

Well, while it's only been REPORTED that there is a "final 3", nothing has been official. Morris may have the best credentials of those reported final 3, however is he the best FIT? I'm not so sure.

He sure was taken right in by his good friend Joe Marsh and Canton as a volunteer right after the Clarkson incident and his son was seriously considering SLU a bit back, plus the fact he has good relations inside the SLU athletic department, who's your top candidate then as you seem to have all the answers?
