St. Lawrence University Skating Saints - 2015-2016

Re: St. Lawrence University Skating Saints - 2015-2016

Where is Got6, TimU, etc? Why Facebook? Too insular.

No team Ilike playing more than SLU b/c you always get skating, hard work, and class.

Good luck the rest of the way and let's hope we see each other in the final on the big sheet. Be quite a skating exhibition.

I don't think I could possibly or succinctly describe where TimU and Got6 are.
Let's say that Tim was completely at odds with our administration over the hiring process and decision on the coach. Since that process he has stopped following Saints hockey and posting here. (He and I speak off line about things but he is not the ardent fan he once was as a result of what went on.)

Got6 is still around and posts occasionally and almost regularly on Facebook. Let's just say last year our thread got very unfriendly and we were eating our own, so he no longer posts here.

Thanks for the compliments on playing us. You have a hell of a team this year Bothman and I think Harvard is the class of the league. Not only are your front lines enviable.....but the addition of Fox and Marino back on D has really legitimized things. As Joe Marsh said on the air he felt that this Harvard team is as legitimate a Frozen Four/Title contender as any of the great Harvard teams of the past. Coming from him.......that's money in the bank.

I think we can skate with the Crimson.........but we don't have the firepower up front that you have on a couple of different lines. I think we will meet again and more than just in Cambridge. Our best chance is to stay out of the box. Scoring on two power plays within the first 10-15 seconds should be a lesson to our boys to stay out of the box.

Where's all the SLU faithfull, big game tonight !

Facebook??

Pretty much. Most of the in game posting goes on over on the Facebook fan page. The name of the group is St. Lawrence Hockey Fans. It's a public group and you can ask to join if you wish. As Joe found out last year at first the administrators of the group were pretty fussy about anything negative said but this year I think it's wide open and a lot more tolerant of guests and their opinions.

Trying to rejoin. Will see if the ban was permanent.

On Friday, Kirk Douglas turns 100. Sometime during the game, somebody at Appleton should cry "I'm Spartacus!" and let's see what happens.

That could be dangerous Joe..........Morris might take some action thinking we meant him!!!

adding a report (belated) on the Belfast trip. Echoing the praises sung by Hockeyplayer1015. Great trip, well run tourney although ice was not in great shape and seemed really slow. I watched 2 SLU practices - Tues and Wed - and the arena guy who let me in said that they had hosted a UFC match on the prior Sat pm and had actually removed the ice! Seems crazy, but that is what he said. Fans were friendly and knowledgeable and all said that these games are so much better than their own Belfast Giants (!). And I have never heard kids make so much noise! The local couple seated next to me said they usually bring earplugs!!! I flew AerLingus BOS-DUB for about $530 (ticket purchased last June), bus via AirCoach right from Terminal 2 to Belfast City Center. Stayed at the Premier Inn Titanic Quarter, right next to SSE Arena. The SLU group was in the Ramada Encore, but they did not make their tour plan until long after I had decided to go;) I was able to join a couple of their outings and enjoyed them. I was only over for 5 days, and would go for longer if (when) I go again. Have been to Ireland several times, but this was 1st trip to the North.

our game against Q was really good hockey. Shootout loss sucked, esp since we put out some truly questionable choices as shooters.... not sure what that thought process was. Critsports summed both games up well. We were way too chippy and aggressive (in a bad way) in the U Mass game. The folks on the fb page saying that Gluchowski should not have gotten a major and a DQ for our game vs Harvard? Most were not there and it was an awful hit and, whether intentional or not, deserving of the penalty. I think the officiating has improved since the October games. the fb peeps (some) do an awful lot of whining about refs, and frankly, bad calls go both ways. At least now there are not 28 penalties in each game as in SLU at Providence - a game that was torture to watch.

I missed the Harvard game but got to Appleton for Dartmouth and after a sluggish (very sluggish!) 1st, got the legs going for 2nd and 3rd and was a fun game to watch. I really hope to get back up for Clarkson on Friday, but another 800+ mile r/t may not be in the cards this weekend!

6'2 190 lb defenseman with Muskegon in the USHL. Late 1997 birthday so he just turned 19. 3 goals and 17 assists in 23 games. Looks to be a nice pickup for Mark Morris and his staff.

The Saints win over Penn St who is now 13-1-1 and ranked 3rd in USCHOL poll
reminds me of the Giants win over the Cowboys .The win looks better and better as the season rolls on....Go Giants...Go Saints!

Re: St. Lawrence University Skating Saints - 2015-2016

Still banned..... :)

Wonder if I could make this like Nightline during the Iran Hostage crisis. "Today is December 8. Day 265 since Joe was banned from the SLU Hockey Fans page."

I'll become a symbol of resistance to SLU and that traitor Mark Morris. Soon people will be tying green and gold ribbons around trees in the North Country. Peaceful pickets will be outside Appleton Arena before every home game.

WCKN will do a feature story on me!

Joe, wake up. It's time to start the day!!

Honey, you won't believe the dream I just had.

Tell me over breakfast, dear. I've made pancakes.
