I wouldn't be surprised if nobody transfers out. I've been hearing (and quite frankly seeing) this team believes in themselves and believes in each other and they believe they will be turning it around drastically this coming year and in the years to come. They really like St. Lawrence and the coach and I would be surprised if there is a mass exodus. This is the vibe I've been given from conversations with many of the players, their families and others in the know.

"Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity." Until there is a change, nothing will get better. We have had this same conversation a couple of times now in Brekke's tenure. Won a couple of games down the stretch, the guys really like him, and we are young, so things are going to turn soon...seven years later, and we are still sinking lower each year.

I hope beyond anything that I get to eat my words and am proven wrong big time, but... "Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it."

I think everyone agrees that the team played better down the stretch. Do we now have a reasonable expectation of more wins than losses next year? I don't have the local knowledge that Saints#1 has--but I do have hope. On the other hand, look at the pros: Vegas just fired their Cup-winning coach right before the playoffs! They are not into hope, just results.

I’m not sure if you caught the part where they gave him a 1 year extension. 1 year, not the 3 years that you referenced. ONE. That’s it. This team was young, extremely young, almost entirely freshman and sophomores. That combined with a very strong recruiting class coming in and I think 1 year is doable. If they don’t improve drastically, which I suspect they will, then he’s toast.

They have 2 NHL draft picks coming in this new recruiting class, among other strong players. Which is 2 more committed than we have had in the past 7-8 years. We've had a couple transfer to us, but nobody recruited in many years. This is a good sign that recruiting is actually improving dramatically. Which is a bit puzzling considering their record, but all the more reason why the 1 year extension is necessary to see this play out and get the answers to what is really going on.

I don't recall seeing it published anywhere, but it's insider information from a few different sources. Would this even be something that would be published though? They don't typically do that I don't believe.

Why don't you stay on your own page instead of trolling other teams trying to stir up sh**? You got your wish with Smith and now you're over here looking for another Coach to lose his job? Are you a coaching expert?
Concentrate on the Engineers page. There will be plenty to talk about over there once Coach Lang has his player meetings. Stay tuned.
