my theory is that since this is a shorter turnaround and most schedules are finalized, the Riley family coaching dynasty pulled some strings. LIU (Brendan), Ferris State (Brett), and Army (Jack assistant coach, Brian just retired as HC) all employ one of the Rileys. The only SLU connection I can see is Rob Riley being AC at SLU for 1 season in 80-81 before his long tenure at Army, but I might just be missing some other connection
