Next year is upon us! Puck drop on the exhibition opener for the promising 2010-2011 season is about two and a half hours away. Seeing as this will probably be my only score update thread appearance of the season, I figured I might as well start the thread. Expected lines and d pairings for tonight are:
Paul Thompson-Phil Desimone-Mike Sislo
Greg Burke-Mike Borisenok-Stevie Moses
Dalton Speelman-Austin Block-John Henrion
Greg Manz-Scott Pavelski-Kevin McCarey

Matt Campanale-Blake Kessel
Brett Kostolansky-Damon Kipp
Connor Hardowa-Mike Beck

Power play goal to go up 3-2 on Thompson deflection off Kessel shot.

Re: St. Francis Xavier @ UNH Exhibition (10/2/10)

Maine picked up a first down on a fake punt from their own 25, after being stopped and then fumbling it forward. Aaargh.

Re: St. Francis Xavier @ UNH Exhibition (10/2/10)

Maine has a first and goal from the UNH 3, and fumbles it all the way through and out of the end zone.

Re: St. Francis Xavier @ UNH Exhibition (10/2/10)

Having to punt it back to them from our own 36 -- great game for the 100th football meeting between the two schools. First and ten Maine from their own 25 -- still 10-6 UNH, 9:10 left.

Re: St. Francis Xavier @ UNH Exhibition (10/2/10)

Now our ball, trying to grind it out on the ground -- then a key third down pass to wide receiver Orlando on the Maine 36 for a first down.

Re: St. Francis Xavier @ UNH Exhibition (10/2/10)

UNH 47 yard (!) field goal puts us up by 7. Hit the crossbar and went over! :D

13-6 UNH, under 5 left in regulation.

Maine gets great field position after the kickoff return -- first and 10 on their own 43 with 2:41 to go. Both teams have 346 yards of total offense.
