St Cloud State @ Minnesota 11/19/11

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 11/19/11

Well then we're beating ourselves, gift-wrapped those goals for you and you have no offensive skill.
MN converted on a 2-on-1 (shocking) and Bjugstad sniped one from the slot (not shocking at all); both those plays require offensive skill since neither player had a wide open net to shoot at. :p

Some Jan player bricked on a backdoor play on their 2nd PP, amusingly.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 11/19/11

SCSU looking better right now. Lots of back and forth. 1:40 left in the first, 2-0 MN

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 11/19/11

I suggest anyone with a DVR replay after the Bjug goal and watch the run #4 took at Bjug along the boards that was too far after the play to not be dangerous. Luckily he missed.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 11/19/11

End of 1. 2-0 MN.

MN shooting anything and everything at SCSU. SCSU looked lost in the first half of the first, played better as the period went on. Should be a good 2nd period.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 11/19/11

End of the period but I can't tell due to Director's Cut being all over the place, believes its 2-0 Gophers

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 11/19/11

Schmidt got called for holding there. That was a terrible terrible call.

It was the right call. Watch the replay. SCSU player in control, MN player flailing his body and grabbing to impede.

The bad no-call was right after that, when MN #4 interfered with SCSU #15 in front of the net which should have given SCSU a 5 x 3.

I could see at worst SCSU penalty for tripping/holding, and MN penalty for embellishment. Shoulda been no call at all.

Looked like nothing more than two players getting tangled and falling down near the boards. There was no obvious hold, and there was no scoring chance created or prevented as a result of said play. If they're going to make calls like that in every game consistently, there would be 20 penalties a game.

So far in the 2nd, Jan has had the better of the play.

You watch the replay. Dowd was from behind and had the reach around and the actual hold/intererence. It should have at worst an SCSU penalty but I would have been fine with no-call.

I'll stand by my embellishment call, if SCSU gets a penalty there. Again, that's at-worst. I would think a non-call is warranted there.
