Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Gophers = Sybil

Multiple personality disorder...we are good...now we are baaaaaad. If I see another turnover, I may pope my pants.

Who are these guys? Where is Skeeter Skeeter Goldy Fuzzy Fists of Fury Eater? Where is Jordan Schroeder? Where is our D? Who is in charge here? AARRRRRRGGGGG!!!

Actually not Sybil. They're bad and how things end up is entirely based on the other team.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Schroeder misfired on an 8 foot pass to Cepis... between that and the putrid defense, I'd say that pretty well sums it up.

Shots and scoring chances are even, yet the giveaway total is 6-2 MN. Christ.

Here is a idea for 12-team NCHA playoff format

I am saying an G1, etc but it also could be some sort of series and would probably make more sense as a series with 2 games and a mini-game first to 3 points.

G1: 9 vs. 12
G2: 10 vs. 11

These probably should be series maybe again the two games plus mini-game

G3: WG1 vs. 1
G4: WG2 vs. 2
G5: 3 vs. 8
G6: 4 vs. 7
G7: 5 vs. 6

Take the five winners of games 3-7 and put them into the Final Five. Reseeding would be a viable option. However thinking logically the chances of either of the top 2 teams losing series before final 5 is unlikely. And I would say that with 12 teams even the number 3 team losing the series is unlikely. So maybe the 7th place regular season team is the 4 seed against the 5th or 6th team not a big deal as no real advantage is gained. So it would look like this at the final 5.

G8: W6 vs. W7
G9: W4 vs. W5
G10: W8 vs. W3
G11: L9 vs. Loser 10
G12: W9 vs. W10

With this many games (many if series is used for first two rounds) this late in the season versus good teams the WCHA could increase WCHA's #of NCAA tourney teams some years.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

I don't think it was so much stick work as it was body position.

That and the fact there was no real effort on the part of the MN player to knock the puck away or knock him off balance.
Yes, there certainly was good body positioning by Roe (I think he's the biggest guy on the team @ 5'9"!), but I liked the backhand look he gave Kangas before switching to a forehand shot.

They are like the HS Prom Queen. They tease and tease, give you a little kiss, then run away with the star quarterback.

And cc to those in the know: the reservation has been made for 4pm.

Scoob-a-roo...you saw it last week. We all saw it last week. We played very well. I was hopeful...we all were hopeful. This team is so inconsistent it is maddening. I hate to say it but consistent inconsistent play (if there is such a thing) tells me there are issues with the General running the machine...DEANOOOOOOOOO!

SCSU played like they wanted the puck. Minnesota played like the puck was contaminated with nuclear material.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Clown - the irritating part of that play is that he shouldn't have been able to switch to his forehand. A capable defenseman would've knocked the puck off his stick the moment he brought it over like that.

Way to recruit a bunch of stiffs to play D, Lucia.

Certainly. After watching the replay, that was some horrible skating out of Fischer there.

M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A!!! MINNESOTA!!! MINNESOTA!!! Yeahhhh GOPHERS!!!

Flukey. I'll take it.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

All Gophers to start and then Dunn lets in a softie.

3-1 SCSU 17:42 left in the second.

Re: St Cloud State @ Minnesota 1/22/10

Just thought I'd throw it out there for intermission talk. And I thought they were unable to make a decision at their meeting.
