St. Cloud State at Minnesota-Duluth: Two Whole Weeks of These People? Joy...

Re: St. Cloud State at Minnesota-Duluth: Two Whole Weeks of These People? Joy...

Nicklin received such a rousing standing O from SCSU fans after his final game (a playoff loss at the NHC) that he felt compelled to skate back out and give a wave.

I remember that. I thought he was awesome.

May have been before your day, but Issac stole a lot of games for us.

He was before my time. It feels like Stalock stole more games than Reiter did...but I could be wrong.

I liked how when Reichmuth would make a save, no matter how easy it was and whether it was actually on goal or not, tPB would jizz themselves and chant Isaac Isaac.

Don't forget with Stalock too!
Most definitely, but you asked about the last time a UMD goalie stole A game. I don't remember specifics, but I'm certain Reiter stole at least ONE game.

Edit: based on the box score, you could argue McNeely stole this game last season:

I bet you could say that game.

This weekend came down to goaltending and UMD isn't as good as SCSU is right now in that department.

From what I've seen this season, I'd also say UMD isn't as deep at forward as we are either.

Re: St. Cloud State at Minnesota-Duluth: Two Whole Weeks of These People? Joy...

You were due a long time ago and beat us (soundly in one game) and tied in another in 2011. This weekend will continue the regular dominance :p

So, about that…..

Knew UMD wasn't that great of a team this year, seems the most talented guys on the team are all freshmen and sophomores. Inconsistency is gonna be an issue but they'll probably be a lot better at the end of the year.

However, was EXTREMELY disappointed by tGarden. Step it up UMDers!

And Biddy… we're two sevenths of the way here. :D

Does Adam Coole count as stealing a couple games? :-)

Hometown boy cut by UMD, SCSU gives him a second chance, ends up sweeping UMD at the DECC.

Anyone remember this game? Moreland got owned by tPB and snapped his stick over his knee.

I remember that game. We were deep in the Huskies head. Pretty sure Conboy flipped the student section off and Moreland broke his stick over the crossbar all in the same game. Back when tPB was true to form. Now none of those guys are anywhere to be seen.

Ironic that all this goalie talk comes up. I was gonna say, Friday night when SCSU scored from the neutral zone the first thing that came to mind is "last time UMD got scored against from center ice, it was against Adam Coole, who then transferred to SCSU". At least this one was off a deflection, none the goalies fault.

*ing Stalock.

I hate Reichmuth more. Merely because he stood on his head against the Gophers in the regional, then crapped the bed against Denver in the frozen four.

Oh I don't sell Reichmuth short. Not. One. Bit.

Re: St. Cloud State at Minnesota-Duluth: Two Whole Weeks of These People? Joy...

haha, I cannot recall a player more beloved by UMD fans and hated by all other fanbases.

Well, not right away. Stalock probably gave many UMD fans heart attacks any time he'd even remotely leave the crease when he first came to UMD.

That was the NCAA regional in Grand Rapids, MI which I attended. UMTC dominated offensively with the likes of Vanek, Potulny(s), Riddle, and Koalska while Reichmuth stood on his head. The last ten minutes of that game were agonizing because UMTC was making it a shooting gallery.

THe other time a tUMD goaltender stole a game or three was the 2009 WCHA playoffs when Stalock was lights out. tUMD was the first play in game champion when they beat UMTC 2-1 on Thursday night and Stalock finished the trifecta with shutouts of theteamformerlyknownasthesioux, 3-0 and Denver, 4-0. That playoff championship lead to the Miracle at Mariucci against Princeton before losing to Miami, 2-1 in the regional final.
