Uhhhh. GNP is around 27T, so 2% = 540B.
Still way more than Musk, and he for sure owned more than just an inflated brand. Even the stocks he owned were in companies that produced real goods and had sensible P/E ratios.

Rockefeller & Carnegie are still the wealthiest people to ever live and it's not close. They literally had entire industries in their pockets.

The richest families are invisible. They do not appear on any Forbes list. The first thing they do with their wealth is pay to disappear completely. They are the equivalent of the Tessier-Ashpools.

It's a pipe dream. The delta v to do this is insane, even with the gravity assists. Look at the timelines involved. It's like a 2030 launch and a 2055 rendezvous.

From the article, NASA assumes all is good with the satellite, just that the module that neatly packages up the data to phone home is acting up and only sending unintelligible binary code. The module has done similar in the past, but this appears to be a new issue.

Listening to the commentary, sounds like the first time that design launched. Really good. People complain that it takes too long, but better and cheaper to do it right than iterate expensive rockets.
But I will give X some credit- the data they show for the viewers is really good.

So Peregrine has failed- had a big fuel leak- https://www.space.com/astrobotic-peregrine-moon-lander-propulsion-failure so it won't be landing on the moon. But the first launch of the ULA Vulcan Centaur was a success.
