Sorry, but it's time to face reality

Re: Sorry, but it's time to face reality

The WCHA, Hockey East, and CCHA have won every Frozen Four and held the runner up spot since 1990, with the exception of Colgate as the 1990 runner up.

Congratulations to Yale! This is their first trip to the FF since 1952 when they finished in third place and the tourney was held at the Broadmoor....wait for it...in Colorado Springs. I sincerely hope you can run the table. Two W's is all it takes. You're half way there.

Re: Sorry, but it's time to face reality

Trolls gonna troll, on both sides, but I have never had as much enjoyment from a tournament my team wasn't in. Good luck to Quinnipiac, Union, and Yale. You have had outstanding seasons and you have made our conference very proud.
Quite. My team was in it briefly, but this has been the most entertaining tournament I have ever followed.

Also, it is highly amusing to see absolute proof that total fricking morons can go to ivy league schools. :D

So Yale is the CC of the ECAC? That explains so very much.

Re: Sorry, but it's time to face reality

ECAC fans are puffing their chests cause they got two into the Frozen Four, yet we're the *******s bc we bragged up when we got four teams in the Frozen Four.

D'oh-kay!

Because the hockey world lives in fantasy land. ECAC is as strong, if not the strongest league in college hockey. Yes, i am completely serious. WCHA and HE are grossly over rated

Time will tell if you are correct.
However, I have a feeling that college hockey games are not always going to be more easily determined by the flip of a coin than by looking at rankings.

I have never seen a tournament or a season where the underdog had a good a chance, or better than the "better" team.

This entire season, it was almost impossible to predict who would win a given game. Quinnipiac loses to AIC? Maine sweeps BC at BC. Harvard beats the hel1 1out of BU a couple times, during a stretch where BU played everyone else strong, and while harvard could not beat anyone else.

I cannot imagine that that trend will continue forever.

The more competitive leagues the better for the sport. Hell, if every league could be competitive, that would be awesome.

For a league without an NCAA title since '89 or two teams in the Frozen in 33 years, ECAC Hockey folks are sure talking a lot of junk.

Thirty years. ;-)
1983 was the last time, when Harvard and Providence both made it (Providence was in the ECAC at the time).

Re: Sorry, but it's time to face reality

While it is great for the ECAC after the rough patch in the NCAA we have had over the previous seasons, we still have some work to do before we can call ourselves the best (an NCAA Champ would go along ways). However, this has been a wonderful tournament so far for the ECAC! Keep it up guys!!!

On another note, to everyone on here grouping all ECAC fans together as illiterate and trolls, this is not the case. The vast majority of us truly do understand that Rome wasn't built in a day or a year even ... Just sayin' :)

This has been a great weekend for our conference, but lest we get ahead of ourselves, we still have not even been in a final since 1991, let alone won one.

I agree with everything you have stated above, except one minor correction. I believe it was 1990 since we last had someone in the finals. That was the Colgate/Wisconsin final.

Re: Sorry, but it's time to face reality

Happy to see some good performances from Yale when it mattered most. Apparently, Atlantic City didn't matter as much to them but at least they came to play once they got in. Also I'm glad Union knocked off BC because I doubt Qschool could in their form. Anyway, bring on the FF and hopefully and all ECAC final.

I'm pretty sure most of us understand that. Just as most of us who follow WCHA teams are not woofing about the big bad WCHA as a few ECAC fans seem to think. I'm pretty sure most people recognize that the WCHA has been less than dominant in the past 10 years or so.

Re: Sorry, but it's time to face reality

Wisconsin, huh? Hey, didn't you guys lose to Penn State this season? A first year D-I team? On your own ice?

Yeah....Union didn't do that....

Nice projection ;) A psychiatrist could make a fortune off of you. I am not sure I remember saying anything bad about Union.

Oh, they came to play in Atlantic City. They were just up against tougher competition. ;-)

Re: Sorry, but it's time to face reality

Yea their awesome! Havent had to play an eastern team yet! No scholarship Union is 3 goals better any day of the week!
Too bad we won't get to see them prove it, because Union is getting destroyed.
