This.. coming from the nozzle that called out Scooter Vaughn last season on the air.... and applauds his own fans for chanting F* Ann Arbor. You folks are officially the head whiners of the CCHA taking over for UNO fans. Ever wonder how Michigan either end up in everyone else's threads or in Paula's comments on her columns? This is why.

Oh, and diva, for the record... most Michigan fans *hate* the shootout. It's a gimmicky product of the NHL and the former CCHA commish.

Someone else can start the NMU/Notre Dame thread. Between the last 2 weeks of Northern threads and the Tech/DU shizzshow, I'm taking a hiatus from D1 before I lose complete faith in humanity.

Well... Northern really blew it last night, should have had that one or at least a tie.

Regarding the comments made by the WMU student section, Im all for the cheers, but that was a little to far. It should stay at the "Sieves" and "see ya B*" like chants.

I was kinda shocked at some of the WMU chants as well... I mean, chanting "Arsehole" when a puck left the ice off an NMU stick was out there.... For me, it's more that it sounded like it caught on with the whole student section.... I'm sure the "Bandwagon" effect is part of this... Things did seem to be a bit racy, even for my tastes.... Oh well... Just gives me ammunition if we meet again in March I guess :rolleyes:

Sorry streaker, never, never applauded fans for the "F.A.A." chant, first, I never heard it. Had I heard it, I certainly would have reacted negatively to it. Second, I've voiced disagreement with the "CYaB" chant on more than one occasion. Please have your facts straight. I don't find the need for obscenity or vulgarity at any arena by any fan group. I am especially appalled when I see it with little kids around. There is no place for it at all.

I didn't think it was *that* rough of a weekend despite the results, because discussions about the "classiness" of a fanbase usually come out when one's team has left nothing worth defending on the ice.

No it's simply discussing what is going on in the arena. If the home fans wanna fly the birdie and yell Suck It Yooper, that is part of the story. It's part of the story when the fans help rally their team to victory isn't it? When the players or coaches talk about how they fed off the energy of the crowd, isn't it? As for the teams, both put on a great show this weekend. Western will be in the mix come tourney time and NMU could be too. Apparently lightning has struck twice at WMU, first in getting Blashill (a very proud to be Yooper) and now with Andy. Class guys and great coaches all the way! It wouldn't be far fetched to see these clubs at the Joe.

By the way, NMU fans, if you get the chance to visit KZoo, it was a great experience. Lots of great places to visit and eat downtown and alot of nice people along the way.

The City of Kalamazoo is a nice place.

K-Wings Stadium and Lawson Arena? Both sh**holes. :D K-Wings Stadium was called that by a few former AHL/NHL-er playing inthe ECHL. Lawson Arena from personal experience.

I kind of like Lawson. It's old, but it's not bad. Hockey facilities have been greatly improved over the past several years.

Fun enough weekend. Lawson was fine. Would have liked one victory, but good intense hockey. I have no problem with the cursing from the students, although it makes it laughable when they talk about vulgarity being grounds for dismissal before each game.

The worst part of the student section is the ridiculous 'Jump Around' they do before each period. Would have been nice to have a band there, as well. Our seats on the end didn't have a great view due to the net, seams in the glass, but it was still fun to see a new venue.

They don't get to have their band until after football season.
