SOLDIER FIELD 2013 • Wisconsin vs. Minnesota & Miami vs. Notre Dame

lol! This reminds me of the badger fan we had the "pleasure" of interacting with on the train ride back to my buddy's place. He started about twenty "let's go badgers" chants in the short period we were on the train with him as he foamed at the mouth a little and spit a little with every word he spoke. He truly epitomized badger fans for me as he looked and sounded like he truly was unfit to be in public without supervision. After all the chanting and some slight drooling, he took a seat when one opened up and he was so tuckered out that he fell asleep. I think the poor guy missed his stop, hahahahaha! Now, we took a picture of this wonderful 50 year old gentleman(yes, he told us how old he was....even though no one aksed), but due to the drama that was caused by idiots posting pictures of other posters, i will not post here just in case. It's priceless, though, i assure you!:d

lol!!!!!!

Nah, I'm done trolling rational, reasonable posters.

Just the insecure, insufferable losers from time to time ;)

Let go of the anger Gurty :D

Just because Gurt is giving you a little line doesn't mean it's you who's doing the playing.

I know you two are ackwardly beyond buddies, and your teeter-totting between which team you support fuels that, but you couldn't be further from the truth here ;)

Shhhhhh!!!! Let him have his moment.

I mean, the way he tied sleeping people to UW's style of play was absolute genius. Give him his due.

He got us good, yes sir!

Shhhhhh!!!! Let him have his moment.

He closed his eyes
Only for a moment and the moment's gone
All his dreams
Passing the puck to Brooks or Mariucci

Dubbs in the wind
All he is is Dubbs in the wind

Same old song
Just another post about Mariucci
All he does
Crumbles to the ice, though he refused to see

Dubbs in the wind
All he is is Dubbs in the wind

I'll offer you a fair trade Happy, you say something nice and I'll fill up your mom's water dish tonight. Deal?

It took me a while, but I think "Happy" is meant as irony.

Be nice to his mom now.

Re: SOLDIER FIELD 2013 • Wisconsin vs. Minnesota & Miami vs. Notre Dame

I thought the event was a lot of fun too. And I 100% agree with you about not blaming the ice for the loss. Sure, the ice prevented the Gophers from being able to play "their game" more than it did Wisconsin, but the Gophers knew that going into the game and are completely capable of playing a dump and chase, grind it out game.

As for the complaining about outdoor games, I don't really get it either. My group had a blast at the event. Obviously the Badger fans in my group had a bit more fun than us Gopher fans, but we all had a great time. I'd like to see one in Minnesota.

But to be fair, there have been plenty of Gopher fans on GPL and elsewhere that have been against playing in an outdoor game for years. I understand their concerns about conference points and outdoor ice, and think they are entitled to those opinions. However, I think the entertainment value of these games and the visibility it brings to college hockey and the program outweighs the risk of losing points.

Nanne was on KFAN and they hit it on the head somewhat, describing the 'spectacle' and the 'game'. Outdoor games are a fun spectacle for those in attendance, so I am sure you had fun. But for the majority of us who watched on TV, poor outdoor ice leads to a less entertaining game on the ice (less skill plays and more dump and make traffic). I think the conference champ should be determined by the teams that are most skilled and play the best hockey. Reducing the skill component in a conference game is something I'd rather not watch. And as far as attracting people to the sport, I don't think it show-cases the best thing about college hockey, which is a lot of skilled, often fast-paced and creative hockey, often played on larger rinks, but with players who aren't so big and fast that they can't maneuver on the ice (a la NHL) to show-case their skills. Instead, it turns it into a game of less skill and more 'fire on the net and hope for a rebound or lucky bounce' hockey. Which I think is not what most of us want to watch (other than maybe Mike Eaves).

Have you told any random chicks on Twitter you love them lately?

Is this the new improved Dubbs? Don't worry rehab rarely works the first time unless the individual hits rock bottom and by my estimation you are only halfway to the bottom of your stupidity.

You're assuming there's a bottom?

Gurt, even if every Whioux here felt like bagging on Becky I would have zero interest in singing kumbaya with them. You at least have a fine taste in music, which is nice.

Re: SOLDIER FIELD 2013 • Wisconsin vs. Minnesota & Miami vs. Notre Dame

Just read back through last couple pages and see I actually made a couple of the same points as a WI fan (Gurt) and fans of other schools about outdoor hockey. Not quite sure if I feel like showering or seeking counseling, or if we were just reaching a fundamental truth about how poor outdoor hockey is that transcends rivalries.

Oh, I never claimed to be changing my demeanor towards wastes of air like your self. You dish it out, learn to take it Sally. She got a restraining order, didn't she? Was pretty freaking creepy pal. Just be glad I'm not posting the Tweets.

It's important to distinguish between the flaming and actual valid conversation.

I agree with your points on this type of "event." Which probably invalidates all of them. :p
