The quality of ice sucked in the Michigan-Wisconsin game at Camp Randall, IIRC. The ice at the Cold War and Big Chill worked out pretty well and so was the overall fan experience, except for our USCHO CCHA gal reporter. Can't say how it was when the Badgers played in GB against tOSU or the games held at Fenway. I think it is mostly weather/air temp related.

They've been advertising this during the Hawks game tonight so I went on Ticketbastard to see what a massive failure this will be...

I was very surprised that it appears that many, many tickets have been bought.

Good. I hope it's well attended so the atmosphere is fun.

If I had to guess it looks between 2,000 and 3,000 unsold. Helps to have 4 teams involved but 55,000+ is a little more impressive than the 14k that went to the outdoor game with the green ice.

Who is going to both games? I heard a lot of fans will be going to the early game and then leaving(and vice a versa). If we can hold out in the cold, we plan on going to both games.

I'm guessing there will be 1 fan in every group of 5 or 6 that pushes for both games - and that good soul will get horribly outvoted. I'll be pushing to try and hang around as long as possible, but already know how well that conversation is going to go.

It looks like the weather is going to be perfect. Mid 30's/partly sunny.

I'll be getting there halfway thru the first game. Would love to go earlier, but have a commitment I can't break. Should be a great time.

Wisco/Minny on BTN
Miami/ND on FSD (and I believe all Fox Sports stations that do not have a NBA/NHL commitment are picking it up)

I know our group is excited to watch the ND/Miami game too. I've been to Soldier Field for a Vikings game but it wasn't that cold. I'm assuming they have some heat lamps in the concourse area or something right? If we get chilly we should be able to go warm up for a few minutes. As an ice fisherman I would like to think I won't have to go warm up but we'll see.:)

Haven't been to Soldier Field since 2001, so I can't recall if they have heated concourses.

We used to drink this Blue 100 (proof) stuff "back in the day" and I have to say it warmed the insides, while killing them at the same time. :)
