Re: SOLDIER FIELD 2013 • Wisconsin vs. Minnesota & Miami vs. Notre Dame

Sorry, didn't realize you'd get so butt hurt over a simple observation. Especially considering all of the moaning by your own fan base about attendance issues in your own season thread.

It was your home game. If you were so sure the Badgers would draw so horribly in Chicago, why did you guys agree to it?

I don't care one way or another whether you guys show up to support your team at events like these or not. Again, I only brought it up because I thought a lot of the over-the-top boasting and crap talking I heard at the game yesterday was a little amusing considering the showing of support your team got at the game in general.

Use whatever excuse you want, but I think the amount of fans you had at the game was rather weak considering geographically it was much easier for more of your fans to attend. Again, 1.5 hour drive for me from Wisconsin.

Why did we agree to it? Money. Duh. See Alvarez, Barry

It is funny how you take a little drunk trash talk to heart, unless you went around and polled each and every badger fan at the stadium. Although I know the plural of anecdote is not data, I went to the first two outdoor games but decided not to go to this one when offered tickets. It was a fun experience, but I would rather be able to actually see the game.

Listen Dubbie, draw had nothing to do with this event. I'm sure we were paid for our appearance and not based on how many Badger fans attended. We didn't organize this. Like the other 3 teams, we were invited by a promoter.

The only thing at all that I care about this game is that we won.

Beyond that, these events are a joke.

We'll just have to live our lives knowing that mnstateOfhockey feels that our attendance at this event was rather weak considering geography. I sure hope that Badger Nation can sleep tonight.

The 2 points and knowing that 3 to 1 Gopher fans witnessed a loss out in the cold after spending a lot of time and money should help though.

I found it amusing and made an observation. The butt hurt over the comment on here has made it a bigger deal than it had to be :)

I think if you use the term butt hurt more your posts might be taken a bit more seriously. Just an observation.

Not my intention, but how else should I describe it???

Again, if I knew it would have struck such a nerve I wouldn't have said it. But to argue my comment about attendance is unfounded is absolutely ridiculous. It comes off as my aforementioned description.

I was being sincere. When I see someone use the term butthurt, I immediately say to myself, "Man, that person is really cool. I bet he has some really interesting things to say. I should listen."

That line of thinking allowed me to kill my proctology exam.

We're you being "sincere" in the other thread when you referred to us all as Dubbs accounts because we dared make a critical comment about UW's fan base? Perhaps you should take your own advice about being taken seriously???

Anyways....Point taken. I apologize and will take that into account.

And sincerely, I didn't mean to strike a nerve with the attendance comment. Some of the backlash is simply ridiculous though.

No, no, NO! I'm the one who's butt hurt.

You see we won the game on the scoreboard, but we had less fans in attendance, and we're closer to the venue, and it was a "home" game for us, so we actually lost the day overall.

Re: SOLDIER FIELD 2013 • Wisconsin vs. Minnesota & Miami vs. Notre Dame

It took almost unskateable ice but Bucky won the game. Kohl Center will be 97 degrees in future games vs umtc. Does not say much for the current state of the UW hockey program, which I am embarrased.
UW won one freaking game. I don't think any Badger fan believes UW would beat minny on a consistent basis this season. Your team is going to the NCAA's and UW is not.

That being said, the Goofs should petition the NCAA for a four part win-loss record. W------L(opponent actually wins the game)------L(minny loses the game, or "other" circumstance)----------tie. This change provides clarification...

(Pretty good, you essentially chose to plagiarize an already lame post.)

If one reads back, there are plenty of Gopher fans who while complaining about the ice, DO NOT say it necessarily was the cause of the loss. Yet that is all you focus on. WI played well enough to win, and got one lucky bounce, on the ice they played on. I don't think anyone on this board can say how the game would have turned out indoors. But I would argue that MN wins 7-8 out of 10 games indoors against WI, and maybe 6 of 10 outdoors. There were no clear plays one can blame on the ice as causing the outcome, but it had some effect on the game. All I am saying is that I don't like important games decided where something like the ice condition can have such an effect on the outcome. I believe that is what most posters were saying, and that is different from saying MN only lost because of the ice.

Well, how often have we heard how important attendance really is and the fact that having a bigger areana has nothing to do with it. You're more right than you know, butt hurt aside.

Not disagreeing with you Koho, but don't you think the risk of having the ice effect the outcome of the game is worthwhile considering we ultimately attend these games for entertainment and the atmosphere and venue didn't disappoint in that department? Not sure if others had a different experience than I did, but I had such a great experience.

Sucks that we lost, but our guys could have won that game if they didn't get away from getting it in deep, grinding, and getting to the net. In the end we are still in great Pairwise shape and I think the adversity will be beneficial in the Tourney.

Welcome back to my ignore list. Life is just too short :)

Enjoy the butt hurt state of mind.

This is the most shocking thing I think. How did he make it off your ignore list the last time? Knowing Gurt I seriously doubt it was because of his fansatic insight. :D :D

Probably as often as we've heard about how much better and loyal your fans are and then see all of the empty seats on TV, including in the ends of the arena.

Again, broad generalizations sure are fun.

No they are not. EVERYONE knows that!

Best part is that some were complaining about these threads going nowhere. I just wasn't up for it.

Now they're really going nowhere. Hope everyone's happy! :D:p
