They're trying to pump up awareness of NBCSN, lots of the big events have been there live. Not sure about other other providers but DirectTV has it free on all packages throughout the olympics.

Has Sid Hartman said the loss was because they had overage Canadians yet?

Also, I'm sure jmh will blame it on Katey Stone as she is from Harvard (sucks).

The officiating was terrible for the women's tournament. They need to put an extra official out there, especially for US/Canada games. Their level of play is too fast for one ref to handle. That said...the ref didn't blow a 2 goal lead in 3 and a half minutes.

I've been watching the Sweden/Finland game on mute today. I'm willing to bet that the Russians are cheering for Sweden. At 0-0 to start the 2nd, it's been a decent game to watch.

Considering they poisoned Tuukka Rask* before the game, you may be right.

*may not be precisely what happened.

I don't understand how that goal was even in question. The puck was in the net for like two seconds before the whistle came.

Is Rask sick? I was curious why he wasn't in net, thinking that maybe Finland chose a bad time to get the other guy some Olympic time.

They mentioned during this NBCSN broadcast that Paul Martin is sick for the US. There must be a bug going around Sochi.
