Can I ask a stupid question? In that ninth end, why does Norway knock both stones out and blank the end instead of putting the hammer in the house and scoring one?

So they keep the hammer for the 10th, would be my guess. Doesnt it only switch if you score?

Oh yeah, I see that now. I didn't realize that. (I probably knew it four years ago but forgot in the interim due to not watching any curling.)

Well if it works for UAA, it'll work for USA. USA - 7, Slovakia - 1.

Just saw the end of that match... Norway's skip was shooting like John Schuster at the end of things... How did he miss that draw to the house that bad?

14 minutes into period 1 in ice hockey and Norway is defeating Canada 0-0.

Right, switches when the team with the hammer scores. They needed two points, and it's easier to get two points with the hammer than to "steal" a point without, especially when the other team only needs to play defense

And yeah, I have no idea what happened with the Norwegian skip's next to last shot. These guys are putting the stone within inches of where they want it, and he missed by several feet.
