Sochi 2014: From Russia With Love

Re: Sochi 2014: From Russia With Love

Sure missing an Olympic Hottie image thread. All kinds of outstanding examples of the sort in Sochi.

You can still have one, you know. You can post links and not embed photos. I don't know why you guys are so impatient that you want to see the photo in the post and not click on a link. Relax. And. enjoy.

Meryl Davis looks like a cartoon. Not trying to be cruel, but it's really bizarre.

Not to be an a-hole, but something about Meryl Davis freaks me out.
Her face is too big for her head.
I mentioned elsewhere: it takes talent, yes. But it's not a sport in my eyes (just like NASCAR) and it should not be in the Olympics. And I'm not watching any of that crap. Any of it that I have mentioned.
Then all these new X-Games events that are subjective and judged shouldn't be in the Olympics either.
I agree with you both - anything that's scored subjectively or based in any way on artistic merit doesn't belong in the Olympics. I know it's a losing stance with gymnastics and figure skating being the biggest TV draws in the summer and winter Olympics respectively, but it's still my stance. Like I say regarding pro wrestling, it doesn't mean that the participants are not talented athletes, but the events are not sports.

Auto racing is objective, it's just stupid.

Brooky: I have found myself watching and enjoying sports and events that i despise and would never otherwise tune in for. I am so glad we got that big screen HD Samsung. Too many to mention.

I understand you're just stating your opinion, but where does it say that the events in the Olympic Games need to be "sports", by whatever definition you use? I don't mind watching gymnastics or figure skating, for reasons that have been stated -- I know how hard it is --, but even if I didn't, it seems to me to be a small price to pay to enable me to see stuff that I really want to see, like x-country skiing and rowing, that I might not get to watch if gymnastics and figure skating weren't paying the freight. It's easy enough to do other things (like posting here) when things I'm not as interested in are being telecast.

You and me both Doc. ;)

Friend was telling me figure skating just isn't the same without Katerina. I'm thinking it's not all bad these days.

This Austrian slalom skier Anna Fenninger is pretty hot.
