SNC vs UW Scrimmage Updates/Comments

Re: SNC vs UW Scrimmage Updates/Comments

Interesting call SNC gets one on the wrap around that's disallowed. Oh that's ok SNC gets another one...so board says 3-2 but should be 4-2

Re: SNC vs UW Scrimmage Updates/Comments

Meanwhile it was Oswego 5 Future NHL Draft Picks 3 and Platty spanked the Quebec All Stars 6-2.... D3 is just a number.

St. Norbert started practice on Monday. Wisconsin has four games in hand.
St. Norbert had a disallowed goal. It was a closed scrimmage and I haven't seen it, but it was supposedly borderline.
Wisconsin didn't want an overtime period, so it ended after 3 periods tied.

St. Norbert is a very, very good D3 team. They would win a lot of games at D1 level. That much is unquestionable.

Great game last night. 3-3 tie.

SNC scored first and never trailed in the game. They had one waived off that would have been a two goal lead. All of the players celebrated at the same instance and the light went on, but the ref did not see the puck in the net and after a conference they waived it. I could not see it from my angle.

Shots ended 30-30, though in my opinion SNC had a few more quality chances than UW did.

UW scored their 3rd with just over two minutes left in the game.

The SNC defense was very good all night. They pinched at the right times, the gap control was fantastic, and the coverage and support everywhere on the ice was outstanding. I think UW only had one true odd man rush all night.
SNC was extremely physical all night as well.

They dressed all the freshmen, and they seemed to blend into the system very well.

All in all I think it was an outstanding showing for only having a week of practice. Other than mishandling a few passes here and there, they looked more like mid-season form.
Should be a fun year.

the u-18 looked very fast, but we out hit them which is to be expected.........they have also played 13 games this yr and probably most of them played U-17 togehter as well, against top competition.........good job by both teams ...and a very clean game

Was there a significant size difference? These kids are 17 years old and most D-III squads are at least 4 - 5 years older on average.

They were faster and more crisp at times but play pretty much yr round and have 13 games under their belts this yr..Not sure about the size difference they did have a 6'5' player, but we out hit them big time I would say....they dominated the third big time I think some of the guys who played the whole game for Oswego got tired and the guys that started playing in the middle were not up to speed yet

It was fun last night. Pretty even game, although I think the SOGs got padded a little early for the home team. Disappointing to see the disallowed goal because the players and the goal judge certainly knew it was in but I was over it pretty quickly. It was a neat one shot deal, and to be clear that was a one shot deal.

 Houston we have a problem!! Looks like the Ferris State game will be "closed" to the public too...what a joke. ..

Well, with the way we played against Michigan Tech this weekend, that may not be such a bad idea.

But seriously, that excuse is complete horse****.

For those wondering what the Wisconsin State Journal's Andy Baggot would write:

"In what UW coach Mike Eaves viewed as a scrimmage Saturday night at LaBahn Arena, the Badgers skated to a 3-3 tie with St. Norbert, the defending NCAA Division III champion. The Green Knights have a lot of veteran talent – several Division I caliber players to be sure – and great cohesion. They played with energy and an admirable edge throughout. Conversely, outside of a handful of moments, most UW players looked lost and uninspired."
