Singles Part 14: Come Get Some!

Re: Singles Part 14: Come Get Some!

Maybe.

1. Is it company ink?
2. How well do you know your boss on a personal level (as in, not business environment).
3. Increase red flags, then re-assess.

She said a friend, so I don't believe its company ink. Not that there isn't some nice ink there, but I'm more than aware of what kind of an issue that could be to our happy little company if there's a nasty breakup between coworkers.

And even if it works out...it's tricky. One would most likely have to change jobs.

Re: Singles Part 14: Come Get Some!

So, talking to the boss today, and she's talking about how she wants to set me up with a friend of hers. Would any of you guys let your boss set you up on a blind date?

Remember those Bad Idea Jeans commercials on SNL? (probably not, you might be too young :p). This idea could be in that commercial. If you hate your job and need to get out - go ahead and do it. Even if YOU handle it perfectly - if your boss doesn't, or the girl doesn't - then there's complications that could affect your job.

very true. If it doesn't work out for some reason, the perception of why could be very different among the parties involved and you could ruin your workplace over it...

Some good advice in this thread. Love it. :D

One question... how big is the boss's desk? Is it sturdy?

Re: Singles Part 14: Come Get Some!

Think big and go for your boss

Hahaha.... No! that's not happening. She plays for the other team and is one of the lucky few to get hitched during a brief window here in Michigan. Not to mention the fact that her life partner is a therapist there as well. And well, the Boss is a big girl, and not in the just a few extra pounds to love kind of way. :p

Re: Singles Part 14: Come Get Some!

That set up with the bosses friend is starting to look better.

I'm on a dating website and earlier this week I stumble across a profile that's listed the woman as being in my home town. I sent her a message, and I finally heard back from her today. Turns out she's down in Miami and gets shipped around the country a lot with some Chinese company, and that she hates her job and that her Chinese boss and coworkers are mostly trying to get into her pants, and some other assorted sob story. she's some sort of German-Spanish Euro that's been living here in the states. Truthfully, it sounds like she's just looking for some guy to get her out of that lousy job and move in with him and likely make him a baby daddy. It really sounds like a hot mess, but I'm still kind of chatting with her pretty much out of boredom.
