Showdown in the Capital District (RPI @ UC 1/15/10)

Re: Showdown in the Capital District (RPI @ UC 1/15/10)

If it had been a 5-on-3 goal I'd have agreed with you. :D

I guess we're up to 35 seconds on 5-on-3 tolerance now. That's good.

We look rather poor when it is 4 on 3 against also. We don't seem to have worked out a decent rotation when we are down to 3 men. That 35 second stretch was the best we have played 2 men short this year.

Speaking of which, is America's Pep Band in the house?

They had better be, since they didn't bother to show up for the first three Union games.

They're not, since there's a whole week of break left.

It doesn't sound as if they are. I didn't hear the fight song after the goal.

Wasn't their excuse for not showing up to the first game in Schenectady that they would be there for the "one that counted?"

They're just RPI's pep band from now on.

Interesting that neither Quinn (Orangeville) or Bailen (Indiana) is dressed today. I wonder if they are visiting, although it would be odd for them to come up for an away game.

Don't get me started on their blowing off all the Union games. You only need a band of 5 to take over Messa. It's nothing but laziness that there's nobody there tonight.

Edit: If they had sent an email to the alumni they could have gotten enough together to play. But it's not our job to go to them and say "So...how about putting a band together for Union?" They should be able to do that much on their own.

Their band; if they don't want to travel, so be it.

I'm just glad I can watch the game tonight. Once I saw "college hockey" on the descriptor, I was fully expecting Colgate vs. Clarkson.

Since you are watching-we expect some good color commentary from you:)

Re: Showdown in the Capital District (RPI @ UC 1/15/10)

Those of you watching this on Time Warner 3 and are of the RPI affiliation will likely share my dislike for the broadcast. It's insane to me that a game featuring BOTH local teams is treated as a homer broadcast for the home team. Just ridiculous.

Re: Showdown in the Capital District (RPI @ UC 1/15/10)

I dunno if I can necessarily be as good as Fridgen....... however that Polacek goal was a terrific give-and-go from D'Amigo, shot from probably a little before the top of the circle.

Re: Showdown in the Capital District (RPI @ UC 1/15/10)

Why does UC blare the horn when the team comes onto the ice?! That's just absurd.

Goal horns should be reserved for goals and victories. Period.

Re: Showdown in the Capital District (RPI @ UC 1/15/10)

Like I said in the ECAC News thread: Teams do that because they know they suck and are insecure about their team scoring goals.

It's their fight song. I believe the lyrics go something like, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...."
