Shillelagh Tourney (Notre Dame, UND, Niagara, Colgate)

Re: Shillelagh Tourney (Notre Dame, UND, Niagara, Colgate)

I hope Frattin doesn't celebrate getting back on the team by hosting a party with Joe the diseased blanket Finley.

Notre Dame is the inferior ND, and the inferior "hostile and abusive."

The NCAA has already stated that drunken leprechauns with a penchant for violence is not hostile and abusive. Despite the fact that they represent the Irish and it is representative of a stereotype.

Irishmen and women are predominantly Caucasian and, despite the deplorable treatment by Americans towards Irish immigrants, they don't have a powerful enough sob story nor the abomination known as reservations that the NA have so...

NOTE: This is in no way a dig on Notre Dame students, fans, or anyone associated with Notre Dame. It's only meant as a dig to the morons behind the NCAA's Institute for Social Change.

Here's to some good hockey this weekend! Heading out now to check out the tourney... As always, I'm more than happy to meet other posters... Feel free to say "hi" if you want... I should stand out in my NMU jersey

Go Hostile and Abusive Mascots! :D

Re: Shillelagh Tourney (Notre Dame, UND, Niagara, Colgate)

A Shillelagh is also what Notre Dame uses to name everything they have. They play for two Shillelagh football trophies. It's obvious that they are too lazy to come up with anything original. This shouldn't be surprising though given they stole UND's "ND" and claimed it as their own. Someone needs to smack Father Jenkins around a bit and tell him to stop stealing things. Bunch of jerkoffs.

Maybe not... there are three of us going to the championship game to root for the NoDaks and I'll be bringing NMU jerseys with. :D
Looking forward to getting a big group to chant "Ruined your Pairwise" or "Dirty Catholics!" toward Notre Lame.

Unless JJFP is in attendance, then I may have to bust out my Wolves Coburn jersey. ;)

Re: Shillelagh Tourney (Notre Dame, UND, Niagara, Colgate)

Here's my 2 cents on what I saw last night...

- Missed the 1st two periods of the NoDak/Niagara game, and was kinda surprised to see that it was only 2-0 to start the 3rd... When Niagara got their goal, it did seem like it was going to be game on... That never materialized however... Was the shot differential a good indicator of how well the Sioux managed the game in the first two periods?

- For Game 2, I will have to say that I was impressed by Colgate... They were obviously lacking in talent vs the Irish, but the came out swinging anyways... They played like a very scrappy, blue collar team... Unfortunately, it seemed like they stayed in the locker room till the 10 minute mark of the 2nd period... By that time it was too late... The Irish looked good for the most part, controlling play for most of the game... It seemed like they really spread the puck around as well... They had 9 different players earn points last night... I'm glad NMU won't see ND again till March...

- For the arena, I will have to say that I am impressed... They had nice sightlines for hockey... The stands were at a reasonable pitch, and the upper deck, although closed off, seems like it would be a great vantage point for hockey... I just wish the building had better management... This is a nice "cozy" arena for the Chicago market... They just need someone to come in and be able to sell the place to acts...
