I agree, but an AD is just as concerned about PR, and it is a huge PR hit when your program is getting dragged through the mud for a few weeks or more. He was probably hoping they would have sucked this year and he could have used that as the sole public reason.

or hoping that she could put the program and the "student Athletes" above herself...but if she was capable of that level of concord she may very well be in the midst of signing a new contract.

UMD will likely settle out of court and we'll be rid of her once and for all
hopefully she'll go back to Canada,

My guess is she was as warm and wonderful to the good folks up there and, combined with a silver medal, would not engender a warm homecoming.

Yes lawyers but if the you, I, other supporters or are donating alums that don't like how it's handled, whether they want Miller there or not it WILL matter.

A friend pointed out that there were 7 underclassmen on last years roster that do not appear on this years. I went looking for last years roster to see who & if I could see were they went but the only roster on the UMD site is this years. Interestingly enough they picked up a refugee from Grand Forks.

Given their propensity to play chippy it only made sense to pull a guy from the NHL.

Actually, they DID call her. She turned them down because she was happy with her job at UMD.

Were there plans to bring so many new faces in prior to all the departures? That seems excessive, even for UMD.
Yes there was... As I mentioned in a previous post, many players are forced to wait an extra year before UMD will admit them. I believe Two of the Swedes were supposed to play last year but were not admitted.
To my knowledge, Kolls Used all of her eligibility but is remaining at UMD to finish her degree
