Even I'm not sure what to make of this one, but hope ya'll like it. On a public computer, so I can't comment for too long. Excellent game all around.

Great work Rob! You made my shots look good lol. I was left shaking my head with the job you did with my pictures of Rodrigues' overtime winner at Cortland and Boots' goal to seal the deal against Platty. I loved the flip book effect. Like you mentioned to me the other day it fit right into the movie. Again good work.

By the way Rob we should really push for this to be played on Saturday before the team comes out. I think it is something that will pump the crowd up a little more than the current video.

It would be sweet, but I honestly have no idea how to pull strings. If it could happen though...it would be an honor.

Many thanks a lot to you and Mike, Jared - it would not have been possible without your inputs and efforts.:)

What I saw tonight was what I knew they had in them all season, if they play like they did in the second and third periods, than I can easily see another national championship coming, they played with an intensity I haven't seen in a long time. I was very very impressed, in the third they had near perfect execution around the goal.

Re: Setting Sail - Oswego State Lakers 2010-2011 Season Thread

Now thats the way to go into the playoffs, all around team effort...great first 2 periods by genny as well but they ran out of gas in the third, and or the Lakers were just to deep a team.....the first 2 periods the lakers could have scored a bunch of goals as well, but they got stuffed by the netminder, could have been worse for genny.......Boots 5 helpers some great passes for sure and Lags finishing was AWESOME .....the D looked very good after the first 10 mins of play, very good point play in the offensive zone as well, I have noticed that the Lakers RARELY get caught on odd man rushes,,,,,,beckwith looked solid, nice to see him back in the groove......Titanic will be a stud soon.....special teams were top shelf as alwyas, would like to see more plays of the faceoffs, we seem a little confused when we win and or lose the draw.....the coaching was GREAT as well was good to see Hall, and Gosek did the right thing, and was rewarded with a HUGE W......the fans seemed into it as I could see on the web........Oz put the puck on the net and good things happened, there were many tic tac toe plays as well, ..bottom line if they play like this the rest of the year dont see anyone staying with them for 3 periods, as i said earlier this yr they roll 4 and ware ya down and knock ya out in the third.............GO LAKERS......also must say the posts on this thread a dead on as well....edit....whats with HVB and Lybrock, tyler missed the last 2 games, injury, benched etc......anybody have a guess at the OZ starting line-up for the game next week????

Was HVB a healthy scratch this weekend or is he hurt?

I saw him after the game. Looked like a healthy scratch to me.

What a great game that was. They got off to a bit of a slow start in the first and spent a lot of time on defense. But they really picked things up on both sides of the ice. They played excellent defense and didn't turn the puck over nearly as much as they have in the past few games (or all season). Genny may have been gassed late, but the Lakers played some of their best offense of the year. Good passing, good play in front of the net. Great for Lags to get the hat trick on senior night. We were all hoping that Joe Hall would get a point, but it wasn't meant to be. Glad he got some good playing time last night. If they play like this from here on out, they can win it all. No doubt about it.

So here's what's next, if I have this correct.

SUNYAC Quarters
Fredonia at Buff St
Morrisville at Plattsburgh

If Fredonia wins, they go to Oswego on Saturday. If Buff St wins, we get the winner of Morrisville/Platty.

I don't know about you, but I'm rooting for Freddy!

Without the risk of repeating everyone else's sentiments on the game last night. I will just say, that the performance by Laganiere coulnd't have come at a better time (he is officially back to his old self). That was one of the best performances that I have seen by a senior on senior night in 6 years.

A bit more on Lags, he has a bum shoulder stemming from a hit in the first Plattsburgh game. He decided to play through it rather than get surgery so that has hampered his efforts a bit this year. A hat trick on Senior night isn't to bad for a guy with one good shoulder.

I think he sat out a few games with it, and then wasnt himself when he came back..he looked good last night for sure, and has a full week to rest up, then another b4 the champonship game ;-)))........

He did sit out a few games but I am told if he chose surgery he would have missed most of the season, if not all of it.

Approaching 1000 posts - lets put this thread to bed for a new playoff discussion.:D

Re: Setting Sail - Oswego State Lakers 2010-2011 Season Thread

Backdraft your assessment of Saturdays game was is right on. Frday's game started out the same way and so hasn't the last 3-4 games that the Lakers have played. I don't know why the first 5-6 minutes they play not Laker hockey. Saturdays game was one of the best this year and even if Genny had the 2 injured startes in the line up I don't think it would have mattered. I spoke a bit with Coach after the game Saturday and that Monday practice after M'villes loss, was a big hellish to put it in kind words. It was great to see Hall playing for he played a really good game. There were some real surprise preformances this weekend from the blue collar guys like Kelly, Singleton, Hall, Titanic, Anderson and McConney. Also a hugh plus going in to the playoffs is that the D is coming together and playing very solidly which just makes Beckwiths job a lot easier. Lets hope this keeps going for atleast 5 more games.

I wonder how many Laker fans are hoping for a Freddy win because Platty or MoVille scare the hell out of me.

Re: Setting Sail - Oswego State Lakers 2010-2011 Season Thread

Idk, I'm up in the air. It would be nice to get revenge on morrisville, it would also be nice to extend our streak to 6-0 against platty. If the team plays like they did Saturday I don't think morrisville or platty for that matter would stand a very good chance of winning, after watching that game it gave me a huge boost in confidence that this team really is the real deal. I guess in the end all we can say is bring em on.

Re: Setting Sail - Oswego State Lakers 2010-2011 Season Thread

I agree. After a performance like that, knowing that when the offense is firing on all cylinders, this team is terrifying. But, even with that said, I would much rather face Fredonia here at the CC rather than Mo'ville or Plattsburgh. Save Platty for the championship, as it should be :D
