I'll agree with most of what's been said. Stupid penalties, not able to get the puck out of our end or through center ice, poor passing. It looked like Hobart watched the film from the Utica game the night before and learned something. I do think that Beckwith would have made it a 2-2 game, but we can't expect to be winning games like that with only two goals. We had no shots for the first five minutes- we were barely out of our end. We may be lucky to have Beckwith back for SUNYAC in later January, and he may not be razor sharp for a few games. So we are going to have to weather this storm. I like Jonesie, but he's a notch or two below Beckwith. If the five guys up front aren't able to help him out with preventing shots and playing at the other end (and they sure didn't last night), this will be a tough stretch.

The whole game reminded me of that horrible second period we played the in that icebox two or three years ago.

Respect The Cooler

Always. I love going to games there. But, where has the student following gone? As long as Brass Bonanza stays on as the goal song, 'Bart will always be a-okay in my book whenever they aren't playing Oswego/Elmira/Norwich.

If it's any consolation Oswego fans, atleast you got to hear Brass Bonanza five times last night. That's a win in itself :)

I was half expecting John Wayne to come galloping in any moment - that was quite the different selection for a goal song...

Oh come on man! Respect the Whale!

Brass Bonanza (which is the song you heard over and over again) was the Hartford Whalers' goal song and is an absolute classic.

Shameless plug here... it's free format week on WNYO so myself and Matt Solomon will be having "Hockey Talk" tonight from 7-9 PM. Former Laker Matt Whitehead (05-09) will be calling in at 7:30 and VP of Hockey Operations for the Amerks and former NHL coach Ted Nolan at 8:00.

You can send questions through AIM at "wnyohockeytalk" if you'd like.

I've got my Selleck Black Third Jersey all set to go for the Amerks/B-Sens game next Sunday! :)

Crowd Chant, ZNation, Bro Hymn...my money's on the newer songs, sir. Bonanza's a tough sell to get hyped up on............woo hoo...

I do respect their goal horn which blasts for the Hurricanes though - how's that?

Re: Setting Sail - Oswego State Lakers 2010-2011 Season Thread

I've actually always been a fan of the Black Third Jerseys.... wish more teams would make them...

The only thing that sucks is the jersey is a 56. You could fit three of me inside of it.

Why in the heck Selleck had a jersey big enough to be goalie cut is beyond me. He was a big dude but not that big.
